Sucks Sad Sad

It's like when all the signs are there, you feel you are both perfect for each other, you have a lot in common, you feel the chemistry between the two of you, your stupid brain looks into the future and sees you kissing this person and making out, she smiles all the time when you are around (well this one smiles ALL the time so that sign might have mislead me) but when you aks her if she want's to be with you she is not interested and wants to be friends Confused

Just damn, baffles my brain.

Won't even tell her my real feelings now, it would just make things weirder. Plus she's going away again.

If you won't be "friends with benefits" with her, then don't bother. I've learned that the hard way...

Don't be surprised if she asks the exact same question you asked in a couple of weeks/months. It happens alot. Yes it's shit, but girls usually deny a relationship with a good friend. I don't mean to give you false hope, but I see it happen alot. I had a good girlfriend (just a friend that's a girl) some years ago, shit happened and I didn't see her for three years. All of a sudden she seeks contact a year ago. Guess what, we got engaged. I saw this same phenomena happen with some friends too. It's weird as hell, but it's common it seems. Realisation what they lost? Going for second best? Lowering standards? Understanding they do love? Who knows what it might be.

sorry, but letting someone know about your feelings before you've even made out, let alone spent a whole lot of time together, just scares them off. ease into it instead of suddenly blurting it out.
this is not about hiding feelings or playing games, but just waiting for when the time is right.

Could be and that's why it's so fucking shitty when you fall in love with someone who is more of a friend, I couldn't help it although wish I did, it was more like love at first sight, fucking life Sad to bad it wasn't both-sided, I guess shit like that only happens in fairytales.

That is the biggest BS I have ever heard... who the hell makes out with someone AFTER they have confessed. NORMAL people only sleep together AFTER they have confessed. Ofc I agree with the dating and getting to know each other part but still.

And I'm not talking about one night stands or prostitutes....

1 and 2 are still amazing.

I'm with you Yuri, matey. There's nothing wrong with developing feelings for someone before you stick your dick in them, to *smart* people that's actually the best thing to do. I hate all this bullshit about love and affection being bad, these days. It's "cool" to just jump into bed with the first whore/manwhore you meet Rolling Eyes Love, romance, affection, friendship -- all that shit seems to fall by the wayside in this day and age, where jumping into bed with the first slut you find is the same as saying "Hello"

Girl: Hi, my name's Casey.
Guy: Hey, name's John.
Girl: Cool, let's fuck!

you got it all backwards sabin. The opposite example goes somewhat like this:

After 4 months of working together and only a word or two to each other:

Creepy guy, who always stares at the cute girl: Hey you, i have to tell you something: i m in love with you!
Cute girl: O_O
*Cute girl slowly steps away from the creep*

Very Happy

it's not about developing feelings, it's about telling the other person about them. love needs time (spent together) to grow and bloom. if a girl tells me out of the blue that she is in love with me (while barely knowing me), i'd be scared simply because of how carelessly she throws that word/phrase around.

sex is a completely different matter. some like you may like to wait and confess their eternal love before sticking it in, while most of my relationships started from one night stands. different tastes, mate Wink - and just because there are people fucking everything in sight that has a heartbeat, it doesn't make pre-relationship sex a bad thing per se.

Yes but when you find someone who is particularly genetically compatible, it is evolutionarily beneficial for you to produce as many healthy offspring as possible with that individual. This necessitates that not only do you protect them, but that you also support them in a myriad of other ways. 'Love' is essentially a way for you to be highly discriminatory between females and allocate your time accordingly. Very Happy

But shouldn't that apply to animals then, they are far more closer to nature than we are and I haven't seen or heard of animals falling in love.

In fact I believe the jackal is one of the few animals that have the same mate for life (something like love shall we say) others do their thing and run for their life, or they have a harem of women.

A whole different story is a type of sea-horse that actually gives birth instead of the female Laughing they actually figured that out because the female kept coming back to check on the 'pregnant' male so of course they found that fishy (because the males usually don't care Laughing ), so they looked under the hood, she gives him the fertilized eggs or something and he carries them for her I think.

Hmm evolutionary ideas, you know what western societies have developed to a point where the biological aspects are not that important any more.
In general, partners choose each other based on certain social aspects as social status, success, rich or poor, etc.
Some tests showed this about females:
A group of woman were shown pictures of men. Some were attractive (in looks) and some were not.
They were asked to choose the man they liked the most and the majority chose the attractive males.
Then these woman got some information about the financial situations of all those men. Deliberately a few of the less attractive males were depicted as very successful financially.
Again it was asked these test group of woman to tell which man they liked the most and majority of woman changed their picking to a financial successful but in looks unattractive man.

Oh yeah, there are three primary factors inherent in mate choice which come down to, genetic compatibility, emotional compatibility and socio-economic status. Emotional compatibility defines how effective a father the mate will be to the progeny. As in actually making a commitment to the mother/children and the degree of positive interaction he has with them. Socio-economic status basically shows he can provide for the children. We've already mentioned genetic factors, which relates to body shape and aesthetics. This is highly subjective to a degree, as you're looking for a mate who's appearance shows evidence of genetic factors heterozygous to your own. I won't go in to what makes universal attractiveness, because it's irrelevant in this instance.

Madmax17, there are many different mating practices even among mammals, it is inappropriate to compare them to humans on such a superficial level. The group organisation of humans originally consisted of residents in a roaming social unit, dominated by an alpha male or two who would have a 'harem' of sexually mature females. Like I said before, 'love' is a way for the males to discriminate between these females and allocate their time accordingly. I'm not claiming that love is synonymous with monogamy.
