Right, so there's this chick in my class, and I've got a problem with her.
It seems she's really interested in me, she always plays with my hair when I'm sitting before her(I have long hair), she lies on my arm during the breaks when I sit on a bench, she keeps going on how she likes me etc...
BUT
I don't like her at all. She's probably the nerdiest, most geekiest person I have ever met. She barely talks about anything else other than school and books. Not only that, she's chubby-obese. I mean- not like morbidly obese, but she graduated from "chubby" university quite a while ago.
Now, I don't really want to hurt her and say GTFO bitch, I don't want to

In fact, I'm not sure what should I do. The good thing about her is that she lets me cheat during Chemistry classes, but other than that...

In that case, tell her that you're not interested in a romantic/sexual relationship, because if you keep her hanging on like this - it will hurt her a lot more in the long run than any immediate shock by letting her down easy.

cant you just ignore her? I have a friend of mine, she is ok as a friend i see once a month or so, but nothing more. No chemistry or whatsoever. But when i broke up with gf, she started phoning and spamming on msn, asking to go out all the time.
If it sounds like a cool plan to do, but not with her alone, just say yes and take 3-4 more other people with you always. She'll understand soon enough.
And as long as she is just giving you compliments, i do not see any problem at all. Cant be that hard of a pain in the arse to be complimented now and then? Unless she is completely stupid, she will eventually stop when you ignore any action she demands you or refuse all her offers.
And dont say yes to anything to be nice to her, because then she will start thinking, "woohoo he finally likes me" and you will make it harder for yourself to get rid of her

It happened to me too, and yes, it's not an easy situation to handle. 
I tried to remain kind and quite condescending just because she was a fragile and kinda touchy girl, but she continued to flood me with messages, appreciations and such, so I had to unleash my dark rude side and rationally (very rationally) explain her the truth. At first she remained totally detached from me, but hopefully (for her  ) she realized that a friendship would have been the right thing. This is the first case, the good one.
It could also happen that your "no" will produce a gash in her ego and (if the girl is particularly ticklish) bring her to completely avoid you for a time that may vary from some weeks to months or even more. I have to admit that in this case I have been particularly raw and superficial, but it was the consequence of a terribly unlucky uni\work cycle for me so, even if I'm really sorry for this, I think I'm fairly justified. 
There's also a third case, the one: it's when she intelligently realizes that a friendship is the right thing BUT asks you (and here it comes the :coolface stuff) if you would like to estabilish an only sexual temporal relationship...

It's a trap in either case. Be nice and she'll think you like her. Ignore her and she will try harder. It really is amazing what women will convince themselves about a guy they like.
Neon: Your best bet is to just be truthful and let her know she does not interest you sexually or socially. It's tough to be 'mean' like that but it will save you headaches in the future.
Afterthought Edit: If she has hot friends just play her to the left and try your chances going out with her and her girlfriends. Banging one of them would be a good indication to her that you aren't interested. |
