Well, part one rocked.

Superior special effects from UK's Plowman Craven Inc (Prince Of Persia/Harry Potter/Hellboy) using 3 perf and mechanical effects.

A quality cast, loyal to the book with some slight adaptation in line with current affairs.
Blind policemen shooting each other, a highly aggressive desire by the blind to possess a Sighted, a blind man playing violin as London burns while the lions overlook parliament with sad eyes.

Characters:

Coker: naive humanity shines through as he struggles to deal with the consequences of selfishness and greed.
Mason: Beating his drum warning of the hidden dangers in mankind's 'savior's' to anyone who'll listen.
Playton: Torn between Mason's warnings, a desire to hide under the pillows and doing the right thing.
Torrence: King Of The World?

Cinematography: [Ben Smithard] (The Damned United)

Superb shots of Churchill's statue looking over the devastation....awesome
Dark woods 'execution by Triffid' scene.
Scottish lowlands at Mason's father's retreat.

All in all a insightful and intelligent adaptation of the book.

Just saw it, and it´s a resonable show... 6/10

The story is very poor, at least in the series. Don´t know about the book

Real mixed bag, some elements I liked for sure. Also some of the set pieces, location shots and digital mattes were good. A lot of time was wasted on drawn out scenes that did nothing to move the story forward, also logic holes and that political agenda crap in the mix didn't help. So far not overly impressed, but will keep watching

Yeah, part two was a let down is some ways and good in others, a real missed opportunity.
Dougray Scott was terrible, and Joely couldn't stand being near him during their romantic encounters.
However, the effects were very good for a tv mini series and the two kids were amazing!
