Are you stupid? or trolling? the symbol has become stigmatized and to some extent taboo in the Western world because of its iconic usage by Nazi Germany, and it has been outlawed in Germany if used as a symbol of Nazism.. which it was during the time.. |
And? People are so ignorant, they are not willing to look beyond some silly stereotypes, when in fact the symbol has been around for thousands of years.

Well, that's why I try posting as much as possible to change people's minds. Nazism is a part of the symbol's history, and must never be forgotten, but there is so much beyond, and people shouldn't bury their heads in the send and scream "taboo".
BTW, I think Germany's tabooing everything WW2 related is awful.

I think you're confusing 'The swastika was around waaaay before the Nazi's' as opposed to 'The swastika has nothing to do with Nazi Germany.'
It clearly does have something to do with nazi Germany, although it is not solely related to them, it still has something to do with them. But natan said it has nothing to do with them.

It has nothing to do with them, they just used it for bad stuff. If I take some very old symbol, go out and murder people while bearing that symbol. So, it has something to do with me? No. I just used it for bad deeds.

I can see what youre saying about the swastika but it still has something to do with the Nazis.

well afaik the holocaust is not even being taught at American high schools
you can make a lot of fuzz about a symbol and whether it is dignified to use them or not in the end it is the behaviour of people that does count not a chosen symbol
George Orwell made it simple in 1984 he only used textual symbols (mantras)
but for me i will never ever be afraid for symbols but i can be afraid for the meaning that other people can put behind those

OK, bad analogy. But when you see a big yellow M what do you think of.
What I'm trying to say is that the swastika has something to do with the nazis. The nazi's may not have invented it, or to have been the first to use it but it still has something to do with them.

When I see a yellow M, I think of McDonalds, but it's another bad analogy. They invented that symbol, for the sole purpose of you thinking about it. See the difference already? If I murder people with a yellow M, the same one McDonalds uses, will that mean that it should be a taboo from then on? Symbol still has nothing to do with me.

It was the official symbol of the nazi party. It has something to do with the Nazi's. I understand that it's not exclusive to them, but it still has something to do with them. If it had nothing to do with nazi germany, then it wouldnt be associated with nazi Germany.

i think you should turn it around: the Nazis used that symbol
the symbol did not make the Nazis
the association about which you speak is there but this symbol has been used over 2k or lot more years ago already
so if you wanna help out in education say something about Nazism and not Symbolism
