Computer just freezes up occasionally, even when I'm not playing games. It's getting annoying. I'm thinking it might be overheating. Any way to check this by measuring the temperature etc etc? I don't know jack shit about these things, hence why I'm asking here.

I doubt that's it, but I'll download a trial of Norton and see what's up just in case.

Did a quick system scan, nothing showed up. Doubt a full scan will reveal anything either. Any other suggestions?

full system scans are important especially if settings are in a way that deeper scan for issues than a quick system one...

but i recomend you download everest, it has sensor tools for all ur shit if available and will deff show u temp issues.. get the corporate cracked one...

oh and scan it before you install it ffs Very Happy

Quick scan goes through all running processes. Assuming I have a trojan running and slowing me down, it will be scanned by quick scan and thus detected. All full scan will do is scan every file on my HD, and quite frankly I don't care if I have a trojan lying around somewhere, as long as it isn't running Very Happy

And Norton 09-10 is a great antivirus.

Will get Everest and see what's up.

@VGA Yes full system freeze. Screen on monitor freezes. Audio goes into loop. Etc.

Get SpeedFan or something for your CPU. ATI already has a temp monitor in the ATI Overdrive section. dunno nvidia.
