So I just bought the Razer Lycosa a couple days ago and that it would be a decent gaming keyboard. Jesus holy fucking christ what a piece of shit it turned out to be. The keys are nice and soft, unfortnetley the keys have to be pressed down really hard meaning that if you just let go a little of the W-key you stop dead in whatever you were doing. -.-

Also, the stupid media touchpad keys do not work as they should. More then often it's happened that the fucking thing starts acting all erratic and just doing random things on it's own.

In other words, this was one of the worst things I have ever bought. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this bullshit piece of plastic. >.<

Send it back and get a refund. I still want to get one, eventually.

Same, though not the mouse. I'm using a MS keyboard from the Wireless 700 pack (mouse and keyboard) but I'm using my Logitech MX-518 mouse.

I don't see the point in paying £40++ just for a keyboard, it's silly. There hasn't been a ghosting problem on keyboards for years, and as for the multiple-keys idea -- who REALLY needs to press more than four keys at once?

In the end, you're just paying for the name and some silly gimmicks you're taught to think you actually NEED...

I remember attending the cyberathelete pro league tourny in 2003 where some lamer norwegian players where mocking me for my shitty headset + non "gaming" mouse. They where not laughing when my team pwned them Razz

gaming mice/keyboard is stupid, they all do the same thing. I remeber at one LAN tourny we had to wear Sennheiser headphones because at the time they where sponsoring our team Rolling Eyes and they where POS.. I love my old sony MD headphones Very Happy

Well, I had the Logitech G15 and used it to it's maximum potential. It was sweet, the LCD gave me a quick view on Fraps FPS, core temps on CPU, time and general game info. It was a multifuncional keyboard.

Ofcourse there's nothing wrong with regular keyboards but I'm kinda picky when it comes to the feel of the keys when pressing them. The lycosa reminds me of the logitech DiNovo when it comes to the keys and I just loved the DiNovo (untill I spilled a bottle of coke on the mofo).

@Sabin
It's not silly to pay for things that you actually use, having a good ergonomic keyboard with features you use is awesome, you should try it. Having a quick way to change volume, change tracks and get info about yer computer is actually quite usefull.

Anyway, the razer lycosa is a big pile of steaming shit and like someone said, I'm gonna go and get a refund.

Well, if it worked for you then that's ace....but personally I do feel a difference between my current mouse and the one I used fifteen years ago (you remember those with the rubber balls inside ), same with the keyboard. As I get older ergonomics become quite important to me so I'd rather pay an extra buck and get something that feels good in the palm of my hand. ^_^

Offtopic, but there are no drivers for win7 64bit from Logitech yet, right ? Do the Vista64 drivers work fine ?

I have a G15 and it rocks, but ... after the upgrade it's handicapped, without the drivers.

Love my Logitech G11 & G9 combo.
I tried a Razor mouse a long time ago - felt cheap and flimsy - haven't touched em since.

Hehe, yeah, that's what I have as well. Logitech MX518 ftw ! I got it the same day that I got the G15 keyboard, I spent close to 100 euros for those 2, but I didn't regret it !

Have you ever tried the Tarantula? Only reason i'm recommending it is because I have one, of course Smile

But seriously, the Razer Tarantula is pretty damn awesome, they keys are awesome to type and play with, very sensitive (in a good way) and very sturdy. Not very expensive either.

I read somewhere that only the macro keys on the left are back lit, is this true? Why would they add back lighting to the keys you'll be using the least, but not the rest of the board? Strange decision.

Newegg shows it at $90, compared to a fully backlit G11 at $58 All of Razer's stuff is overpriced imo.

Those are they keys that have backlighting.. But, who the fuck cares if it's backlit? 13 year old 1337-gamers? Razz

Nothing bad about Logitech, pretty much all my previous mice and keyboards have been Logitech, and my wireless mouse+kb for the couch/projector is Logitech - but the Tarantula is so nice to type on, and feels more sturdy.

I'm against those big G15-G19 keyboards (I'm not a gamer obviously) but they seem too crowded and that LCD on top seems a bit too much.

The only keyboard that's big and I have wet dreams about (Laughing) is Logitech Wave. I'm getting it pretty soon Very Happy

The feel when you press keyes on that one is like touching a heaven Smile Plus it has that play/pause buttons and I love those.

Now I have shitty neon keyboard, which has laptop like keyes, but it has play/pause/fwd and those multimedia keyes.

I was considering between those two actually and I came to the conclusion that I wanted simplicity this time around. ^_^

Perhaps I'll trade it in for the tarantula since it's way cheaper than the lycosa or I might get the G15v2 since it costs the same as the lycosa.

When the first G15 came out I bought it and just fell in love with it, it was also way cheaper than the version 2 one's back then. For some reason Logitech upped the price on them, ALOT. o.O

I'd really want to buy the G19 but damn it, it's not woth the money just to get a color LCD on it. Sad

@Yodaime
Yeah, I also had the DiNovo and the keys on it were sweet...best typing experience I ever had with a keyboard when I owned that one. Unfortunetley it's really fragile and a can of coke make it die (and my warrenty ran out). Sad

I'm waiting for these, Roccat knows quality and it took forever to develop this keyboard:

http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Keyboards/ROCCAT-Valo/

My mouse is Razer Mamba, coolest mouse you'll ever own the wheel however does not fit into the high price it MUST be better, Razer needs to burn their wheel blueprints and start over, make a descent wheel for once.

As far as keyboards go try Saitek Eclipse, it has the best and most comfortable keys I have ever tried, much better than logitech and microsoft keys imo.

This is the keyboard you all want,

http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/

nothing like putting icons on your keys for your ingame keybinding awareness.

I have no idea about release dates if it was or wasnt, but i remember i was watching either it was this one or a diff keyboard that does same stuff and it wasnt even near release even now..

still its a nice idea. I always thought it looked rather mac type ideals, and that we would see it on that platform first.
