Are some people inherently good, or are they "good" just because of their fear of the consequences of their potential wrongdoings? Philosopheraptor

I attribute goodness to either -
1. Naivety - A sense that them being good will somehow serve to counter the tidal wave of shit that happens on the planet on a daily basis.

2. No Means / Fear of Consequences - They don't have the money/power to get away with being bad, and thus fear the inevitable consequences.

People are all inevitably evil little fucks - if they could, they would. Those that don't either can't, or believe they aren't out of a sense of naivety. None of them "won't", so to speak.

It's not our fault, it's just how we are. There's countless millennia of evolution feeding into this.

@Lopin

I too have had this fantasy, though I'd target this scummy little fuckers that cheat in online games. The shit I'd have done would make Stalin look like a fucking saint in comparison. Twisted Evil

Im pretty good naturally. I can get mad but thats it.

Now..... When it comes to thieves, murderers, corrupt people. Oh boy. Fuck being good. Ill be bad if i can get rid of bad. In this case i would be extremely bad.... Bad as in "too far dude" had i been rich i would have seriously done the wrong thing in cases like these... Not that its really...... Bad.... But very very.... Crude and extreme

I got over it (by now my death squad should have killed around 30 families and posted the videos online). Already bought the damn tthings. Wont buy it locally as i dont want to feed the fucking stealing black market. Fuuuuu kthat.

One fallacy when it comes to the "logic" of being good is the claim that being good doesn't promote survival;

Being evil (greedy, selfish, lack empathy & morals etc.) does seem like a much more natural path for survival, on the surface.

The thing is, we are social creatures. If we are good, the chance is that people will be good back. In fact, as an individual, being good promotes the multitude of people being good as well, something that will affect yourself. In a larger sense we are good because it promotes our own survival if we are part of a society which is built on "good".

Of course, the world isn't fair, there are imbalances and sneaky rotten people that take advantage of other people as well as innate selfishness but ultimately it pays off being good, esp. psychologically.

Well, ive surrounded myself with great people, people who love me harshly and set me straight and ive cherished that, lately ive had so much given to me for some reason that even i cant understand sometimes, i can only understand that even as mean as i am, i do give my best side all in all and people have cherished that.

Now.... these useless fucking pieces of thieving shits. I could care less, his children, his family, all of them would pay if they had the minimal idea of what their relative was doing. AAAAAAaaaand then im evil. But only then and there.
