Ok so I've got 3 computers in this house total, wireless router as well. Both the desktops are the network and filesharring etc, but I can't seem to get my wireless laptop to see said shared folders and shit, it's connecting to the internet through the same router, setup the network on it but none of the folders show. Did I miss something for wireless settings or something?

If you are using Windows 7, you need to be careful with the new Homegroup bullshit they put there. Not quite sure what it is, but I had some similar problems that disappeared once I disabled it. Also, make sure all the PCs are on the same workgroup.

Ugh, XP... Have nothing but bad experience with it on the network side, so no help from me.

Never said it was impossible, just my experience. I didn't have a wireless network then, just point to point Ethernet.

Seems more complicated than it should on Vista :/ |
re-read what he wrote
"Ugh, XP... Have nothing but bad experience with it on the network side, so no help from me."
XP is what he's had nothing but bad experienes with whenit comes to networking

Ill find a reason to install Win7 RTM, I just haven't found it yet :/
Installed both AeroShake and AeroSnap on XP, and it works great^^ |
not this crap pls dont turn this into xp vs vista/7
you also obviously haven't had any experience with vista networking, or else you wouldn't say "more complicated"

Yes, it was me, lol, I remember now.
Well, probably because you were searching for shitty wizards that weren't there. In XP you have to run a wizard and hope for the best, if it doesn't work, you have to set some IP addresses and subnet masks and hope no conflicts arise, lol. With Vista/7 it's all done automatically for the most part with its auto discovery. In fact, the only time I had to dig deep into the network settings in 7 was when I wanted to change the bridged network settings for VMWare.
But this doesn't help as you have XP on all machines...

XP + wireless (or not) networking = pain in the fucking ass! I've tried to connect my and my sisters comp via: crossover cable, via switch, via wireless and none worked (she was on Vista and I on XP). But even when she was on XP it didn't work. But when I installed Win 7 the network worked in all 3 cases, so my advice: install Win 7 It works like a charm...
