Woohoo!!

Finally the straight-to-DVD movie came out! I've been waiting for this for ages... after being gutted that the series ended so poorly. According to reports, the producers are going to gauge feedback from the movie and decide whether to create a new season.

I hope they do! I LOVED "Dead Like Me" Very Happy

LMAO! Too right mate, too right. I'll never understand why certain shows are canned, yet boring trash like "Ugly Betty" and "LOST" keep going year after year after year.

ooh
one of my favourite shows ever
there was nothing wrong with S2
it was just slower and less dynamic as the first one
but it had the beginnings of a potentially larger storyline that could have made season 3 very revealing if they would have exploited it properly

HAHAHA!

Yeah man, anyone that follows LOST for any period of time automatically gains the ability to be unfazed by mysteries Very Happy

@Shole

I never said anything was wrong with S2. I loved both seasons. I just wish there had been, in the light of not having S3, more closure.

I BEG everyone that enjoys the show to download this movie now (not like any real fan could stop themselves Razz) and then BUY it on the 17th of Feb. We need to generate revenue so that the publishers pick up the series again!

it wasn't Bad or anything.. but like the new x-files movie, it was more like a mediocre double episode than a movie

and she looks different now? if this was explained, it would make sense why her family didn't remember her

That was explained in the first season, and shown quite a bit too. When you become a reaper, you take on a whole new look - and nobody recognizes you.

About to watch it with my girl now, be back shortly!

Ok, my girl and I just watched it... and it wasn't terrible. It was pretty much, like said about the X-Files movie, just a long episode. The downside was it wasn't one of the GOOD episodes. Not terrible, but it could have been a lot better.

Neither of us believed Cane when he said Rube had crossed over - and the interviews with the writers, before Life After Death came out, said that the reason Rube wasn't in it was because the actor had prior engagements. They didn't say he was NEVER coming back, so we took the post-its at the end to mean he IS coming back if the show gets picked up for a third season.

Let's hope so!

i meant her 'visible self' looked different from the series
in the show she looked like a junkie and here a generic twentysomething

i read the ending as george becoming the new boss

Ohhh... sorry. My girl and I said the same thing (only backwards from you) -- in the original show she looked normal, but in this one - which IS four years later - she looked so haggard and, yep, like a junkie. T'was weird, though she still looked like George. Hell, I was stunned by how little ALL the cast had changed. They looked almost identical to when they were in the normal show.

The only one to have "grown" was, of course, Reggie.

Woohoo! Very Happy

I honestly think you'll enjoy it mate. Not a lot of people whined about DLM, which is a first, and it was generally well received.

I can't remember how long each ep is, but I'm pretty sure they're normal 45min runtimes.. with the first one, being a pilot, around 75mins or so.

It could be. I can't fully remember (and I've got all the DLM eps stored on DVD somewhere, rather than on my HDD where I usually keep my movies/tv stuff)

I thought the "movie" was okay. I was a fan of the show so that was why i enjoyed it, but it didn't feel like a move. No it felt like an extended episode, like they were pitching their bosses for another season. Like sabin i would love a third season but sadly i doubt this will impress the people that hold that power.

But then again i've been wrong many times in the past about these things so lets hope for the best.

Aye, it definitely felt more like an extended episode than a movie -- and I liked it that way .. I just hope it DOES impress those that have the power to return the show Sad
