|
 |
Hey mates,
this started happening a while ago. when im downloading tv eps from eztv it usually always starts off very strong at 500-600 kbps, but most of it goes to waste in a 350 MB episode i get download like 1 gb 700mb wasted and the proper 350mbs.
does anyone know why this happens and what i can do with it??
thanks!

I guess this is on a public torrent, right ?
I think screwed up torrent peers. Doesn't utorrent have an option to ban clients that give too many wasted chunks ?
Protip : casual downloading is best with Rapidshare

No, I actually pay a few bucks for rapidshare, so no wait time. Or do you mean slower spreading ? An hour or so doesn't matter to me. Also, I download them quickly, because you're right they're deleted quickly.
Anyway, sorry for offtopic

Rapidshit and Megaupload are, IMO, only viable choices if/when you pay for accounts. Mort is right; downloading single files at low speed with wait times in between each one (RS here, MU is actually pretty good though arduous) is a pain in the arse. If you have paid for an account, you at least can use DL managers, get full speed, no wait times, etc etc.

@Shayetet13
This is the case only for popular TV torrents. They (the TV companies) have dedicated peers to flood you with bad data at high speed. A ban list or a program called Peer Guardian will help you out.

Well... me neither, for a longer time... the last TV shows that was bugged with fake seeders was Joey. Never had a similar problem with Heroes, Lost, CSI... etc. I guess it's very show-specific.

Most UI stuff built on top of Java (JWT and Swing from what I remember of my time with Java) look and run very bloated and out-of-place on Windows. It may not be Java's fault entirely, but they should work at least on the performance side of the whole thing.

It's funny really, first we had Azureus, the megabloated torrent-client made in Java. uTorrent came and did the same stuff in c++ at 5mb. Now there's deluge, based on uTorrent.. Full circle!?
