soooooo trying to play bluray movies... legit ones! i know, im as surprised as anyone... anyway blu-ray discs on powerdvd...

now heres the problem... the disc starts trying to load... goes kinda quick, but it keeps loading... when it gets to 80% after like 7 seconds, it starts slowing down... around 95% its at a crawl... usually ive given up by now, but even after it FINALLY its 100%, it still wont run... it pretty much hangs the program, or its running so incredibly slow its as good as frozen anyway...

i managed to trace the problem.. when i disable my antivirus (kaspersky), the disc loads up and is running perfectly in seconds...

so yeah... question is... wheres the problem? ive tried adding powerdvd to the firewall list, but everything i try i still get the same problem.. anyone have any ideas? come across anything similar? why cant blu-ray, powerdvd and kaspersky get along?

Screw the firewall list, add powerdvd to the "exclude" list for scanning.

well that wasnt working... so i turned off all of the individual kaspersky services, and then turned them on one by one to try and find out exactly where the issue was... turns out kasperskys 'proactive defence' service, is what hates blu-ray... now lets see if i can find out exactly what it is about bluray that it hates so much...

edit:
ok traced the problem further, to the 'application activity analyzer'..

...getting closer...

edit x2:
ok now ive found the specific activity causing the trouble...

aaaaaaaaand now im stumped.... its the 'intrusion into process (invaders) event in the proactive defence service, that is causing the problem..hmmm.. doesnt tell me what process is causing the problem though...

ive excluded the entire powerdvd directory AND the entire blu-ray drive from the process, but still the same problem...
