|
 |
I've been using Nero 7 for quite some time. Upgraded to 9 took forever and a day to install. So now I am considering using another program to burn my game and app images. I hear Roxio Creator 2009, Imgburn, Ashampoo Burning Studio and Alcohol are very good. What do you people think? Should I stick with Nero or move to another program? What's your experience burning with these programs, does it fail a lot of burns? I also like to make multi-session dvds, which program is recommended for that too?

If your burning dvds all you need is all the vobs and what not in a folder called video_ts with an empty audio_ts folder, burn that as regular data and it works fine...
I myself have used Nero7 forever and I think I'm going to start using free software like ImgBurn because it seems they also work just as good and they are smaller in size...

If it's images you're burning, theres NO OTHER APP you should use than ImgBurn.
Free, super lightweight, fast, dependable. Everything i've ever needed anyway.

This.
ImgBurn can even create it's own compilations, so there really is no reason to not use it.

ImgBurn is the best.
It's a common misconception about ImgBurn that it only burns images, when in fact it can do so much more.

Doesnt do anything anymore for my burners I think both my NEC's died around same time which really threw me when wondering if its software related.. can burn anything but img files/iso etc u name it nogo, general data and music not a problem.. really annoying. Ill have to purchase another pioneer to update the older 109D i think it is ive got.
All I get when burning img files etc is failed errors or strange timeout failures.. teach me to buy cheap nec burners.

Ok so I decided to dl Imgburn. But I want to have a program that can also do multi-session. Am I better off with Nero Burning Rom 7 or Ashampoo burning studio 8 and why?

The only downside I see from IMGburn ... is that it's so amazingly successful, so feature-complete, that one day the devs are going to turn round and say "Gotcha! Now we're charging for it! Weeheee!" -- just like XPadder.

"It deserves to be bought" is subjective and entirely besides the point; it was always free. Right up to the moment where the devs thought "Hmmmm, people use it! We can make money off it!! ahahaha"
It's called a "hook" - think of drug dealers; your first, and possibly second and third, taste? Free, baby! Let me hook you up! .... now? Sorry pal, no more freebies. You know you need it baby, so now ya gotsta pays!

He accepts donations, I paypal-donated 5 dolla last year, maybe those who use it a lot should throw i a couple of bucks, no biggie.
Also, it's by the maker of DVD Decrypter, good old times, he had to end that project due to threat of legal action. That guy is talented !

YES! Just like DT, mate! Grrr. Free for years, then suddenly - out of the bloody blue - "oh sorry, you have to pay for this now. Too baaaaad"
*sigh*
Yes, I know some apps are worth buying. I don't dispute that. I just dislike the whole "free........ for now... teehee!" mentality. Either charge, or don't. Don't suddenly start charging months down the line once you've got people hooked.

Likewise, especially as DT-Lite runs clones every bit as easily - and successfully - as DT-Pro. The whole "vIDE!!" thing was an epic fail, it seems.

I prefer Alcohol Free Edition. Also, vIDE took too long to release, most protection implementations don't have the anti-scsi option enabled anymore. Because it causes problems to legit owners, too.
Only a handful of games need it anymore.
