clearly I think most of us can agree that vista's image browser is shit, it doesn't play gifs and puts photos in low resolution and is overall just shit
any suggestions on a simple and not intrusive image browsing program out there?

of course this is not a request of DL links just names you folks Wink

XnView 100%. You don't need anything more. And get the "XnView Shell Extension" as well. It allows you to see previews of pics in Windows like this when right clicked on.

You can even view "raw" Photoshop files with it!.

Ma...NO! I find it a great feature...and it's free Wink.
I use PS CS4 every day for work, so sifting through huge amount of pics everyday, and I find this feature great...but that's me Smile.

Nothing beats that, mate. Best damned image viewer I've ever used. LOVE the batch-conversion feature .. it's an absolute GODSEND for converting metric shit-ton of images I often take with FRAPs.
