Get the new "Razer Carcharias"
CARCHARIAS
or the "Razer Megalodon" (soon out)
MEGALODON
I think both are basically same, but the Megalodon's have 7.1 surround and the new Razer Maelstrom Audio Engine

Avoid using earphones, headphones and all that stuff as much as possible. Very bad for your ears. Unless you don't care about being partially or fully deaf when you are older.

What does it mean?
The sound is processed by Megalodons own sound card (box) and can not be split, so you can connect lurarna in another sound card. |

Got ya. I guess they are using that big "dongle" kind of thing with their new sound card. In that case maybe the Barracudas is not a bad option, have them myself and can't complain, really good well built headphones, and they are getting cheaper as the new stuff from Razor is coming, they dropped like almost 40€ here in Germany

All about the barracuda's here. Seems they don't like the 5.1 setting in some games, set them to 4 and they sound 3 times better. Maybe cause the "sub" is simulated? I was going to wait for that megalodon but I don't like that big bulky control panel and the two new ones don't seem to have such a conveniently detachable mic. The one from the baracudda has a 3mm or whatever plug and to keep myself from losing it I put it on one of the inputs on my keyboard.

and im here to brag about how shitty these razer phones are
forget aboutt all the 5.1/7.1/quadrophonic sets - they are all marketing. if you know basic sound wave laws you'd know multiple-speaker headphones doesn't work as people think.
get a quality stereo sets (some $200-400), a nice amp and these should do fine with x-fi in games. for music x-fi sucks balls, of course (even that shitty music edition which is just naming). auzen's x-fi prelude is the best universal card there is atm.
yes
