Looks like there is some new video partition method, Major.League.BaseBall.2K9.USA.READNFO.XBOX360-x360inT is the first to use it, following by HAWX and they won't boot with iXtreme 1.5 or 1.4.1. iXtreme 1.6 is already worked on to address this issue, obviously it means we'll have to reflash our consoles.

UPDATE: Added some stuff and made corrections.

UPDATE2: Recent release of iX 1.51 made this thread obsolete. Smile

its not really anything to be worried about looks like it was developer choice rather than forced, if microsoft were pushing a new protection scheme itd make more sense to have it on halo wars which will sell a ton rather than a game thats main audience is North america and japan

Not really. The video partition has been changed before which led to incompatibility with ripping tools. This is no real protection, most likely MS has released an update for the X360 SDK that creates slightly different video partitions.

So if you rip it properly there is a chance it will boot on ixtreme 1.4 and up?

No, iXtreme (up to 1.5) allows only two versions of the video partition: the first version and the second (I think Crackdown was the first game to use the second version). Any other version is regarded as a bad rip and will not boot to save you from being banned. All that needs to be done is to update iXtreme's detection so it knows that this new video partition is OK.
This will happen in the upcoming iXtreme 1.6

As I said in my original post the new iXtreme 1.6 is being worked on to address this issue. There is no ETA.

Guess I'll be getting the PC version of HAWX then, at least until iXtreme 1.6 is out -- because I'll be damned if I'm ripping apart my 360 and DOWNGRADING to a non-Stealth version of Xtreme just for two games (one of which I wouldn't play even if you paid me)

... besides, I don't think my P5K-PRO's SATA chipset is supported for flashing the 360 (I flashed it with my old nForce4 machine) and I'm not going to go buy a dedicated SATA card, again, just for two games.

Still, both released by the same group.Maybe they fucked up somehow??
Can someone tell me why Halo Wars, SF IV, and other games just released, were not affected by this?
