Gah. I seem to have them quite frequently, it seems. I'm currently living in Norway with my girlfriend, but I'm not a citizen yet .. just a long-stay tourist. Since I don't have a visa, I can't work (I don't think... still need to check up on that) and I can only, legally, stay for 3 months at a time. So all my life-stuff is still back in the UK. Bank accounts, rent for my apartment, family and even income. I stay for three months then head back for a couple weeks before flying back over here -- it works out pretty great, actually.
Anyway, since my bank is in the UK - and my income is paid into said bank - I have to use my Visa card in order to get any money over here. It's hassle-free and enables me to live here and not have to worry about money while I'm not working. My card goes everywhere with me and is, pretty much, my life-line while I stay with my girlfriend.
... I've just lost my card. >_>
Don't know how (it's always in my back pocket, never lost it before) and I sure as hell don't know where but without it I am royally screwed.
Christmas period too. Awesome<!>
So now I'm going to have to phone my bank and have a replacement ordered. The thing is, I highly doubt they're going to send a replacement ABROAD - and even if they did, they won't ship me my PIN number either. So I'll have to have it sent to my registered address and then have a member of my family, in turn, ship it over here to me. This would be the optimal solution except that;
A. It'll take anywhere up to a MONTH before I receive it (banks are notoriously slow, especially mine - and then the postage to Norway itself)
B. My bank is useless. For some reason, I never get any mail from them - not even monthly statements. I've been in and bitched about it, but they just keep saying "We HAVE sent them out"
I still have my bank details online, as well as it being tied to my PayPal account .. so transferring money from my bank to my girl's bank is an option. Except, it's a dead option, because Norwegian banks use a totally different system to us - so I can't input her bank details as a send option (my bank asks for certain numbers and codes, neither of which are applicable to hers) So, instead, we try transferring from my PayPal to hers, where she can then transfer directly to her bank.
..... I typed the wrong bloody email address and end up sending a nice sum of money to a complete, random, stranger. Quickly cancel the payment, but the money has still been taken from my card and will take 3-5 WORKING days to be re-credited. Fucking yay.
Oh and I've run out of painkillers too (I get crippling migraines)
So yeah.. ever have one of those days?

Honestly it's not that bad. You're getting your card replaced. in 3-4 days you'll get the money back from fuckin' up on paypal. You can still paypal your way into her bank account. No worries. Losing your CC is a biggest bitch in the world though. I had days like that.  At a bar, having a blast, tossing wallets around to laugh at ID pictures... a certain wallet drops and a card falls out and goes through the cracks of a rooftop patio with no way of getting it. Making a phone call to the bank while drunk saying you just right now lost your cc... sobers you up. 
Get up on getting a visa and a job right up there. FireMaster is kinda right. Seeing a girl for 3 months, then flying back home for a couple weeks, then flying back to live with her for another 3 months and then back. It's grand that you've put up with it. But it is a lot of work, so kudos to you. A lot of guys wouldn't keep up with that kind of trash. We'd rather stick to what's easy to get.

Flights are dirt cheap and I enjoy flying .. the worst thing about it all is being apart from her for a few weeks. We've been living together now for a year, been seeing each other for nearly two.
Definitely getting a visa though, the whole plan is my moving over here permanently. I'm still learning the language, which I'll need before I can get a job or even apply for a visa.

Nothing yet, I don't think. I'll need to have at least a basic grasp of the language, as well as proof that I'll be able to support myself without reliance on state benefits (read; a job or written affirmation from my girlfriend that she would support me)

You're not far wrong, actually. I *still* harbour a hope that it's going to turn up eventually. I mean, it can't have fallen out of my pocket when I'm out the house ... so it's gotta be in here somewhere. No doubt I'll find it.
