I talked about it with someone here in PM, I agree. The real football is the one where the foot touches the ball, not the one where over-masculine men hold the ball in their hands. 
BTW, while we don't like the sport (American Football), there are much tactics in it, so it's not all bad. But it's the sport itself, I don't know, I just don't like it.

It's just a name. Whether you call it football or rugby, it remains a very brutish game. And on the topic of american english, it is pretty much similar to 'standard' english. You should see the differences (and I don't mean accents but totally new words added) between portuguese and brazillian. Or the way spanish is spoken in different parts of the world.

Well its a well known scientific proven fact that people born in certain parts of the world have lower IQ's(some parts there's even doubt whether or not intelligent life is actually present), Europe and China tend to be the smartest, dunno about the rest of the world though. Not pointing the finger to America here eh, I might be talking about it, but then again I might not.

Of course, it can only be used in a veeeery broad perspective, and even then the margin for error is too large to have the results be of any practical use.

To me intellect is a combination of knowledge and the ability to use abstract logic (IQ) with that knowledge (make deductions, draw complex conclusions based on static knowledge and further the understanding). Someone with lots and lots of knowledge may not have a particularly strong intellect (people in game shows), and someone who is very intelligent may not have had the opportunity to take in knowledge (very smart working class people).

Rugby football evolved from football. American football evolved from rugby football. So it should be named American rugby football? That's catchy!
The name American football (or just football IN America) has been around for 150 years, so maybe you should ask some dead guy.

Back when they invented the sport they used to call it 'American Footspheroid' but somehow it didn't catch on cuz most americans couldn't comprehend the word spheroid let alone pronounce it, hence they renamed spheroid to ball and thats the real truth behind it. It was called that for just a little while but many Americans confused it with hemorrhoids and they thought it was a sport where people with anal pain were running around doing excercises to relieve their hellish condition

I agree the only leg usage is done by the kicker and the punter, more appropriate name would be 'Tackleball' there is a lot of that or 'Blockball' but most Americans can't even speak english properly so it doesn't really matter what they call it. Of course they also call the winners 'World Champions' which is dumb, NBA teams lose to Euro teams regulary in recent memory, there should be a final match between the nba winner and the euroleague winner then the winner of that can claim the title same thing for football (soccer). Just to be non-discriminating you can also put an Asian team in there if they play the sport at all.
