Any of you guys use a LCD TV as your primary PC monitor? Primarily one that does 720P/1080i? I want a big ass screen without the associated price tag and was wondering if anyone uses one daily for their PC.
How is gaming/image quality? The one I am looking to get for $275 only has 1 HDMI/VGA + composite. Using DVI now I dunno how going to VGA would be.

It is certainly possible, but you want to ask yourself if you can live with a 1280x720 resolution for your desktop. If that doesn't bother you, it will work well.
About the connections, I think there's a DVI to HDMI converter, so you should have no quality loss (VGA makes everything fuzzy from my experience).

Yeah that's a good idea thanks. Just ordered a DVD -> HDMI converter for $2. And yeah I get fuzzy picture using VGA as well.
This screen does 1366 x 768 native and I think video cards do output that? It won't bother me mainly because the reduction in resolution comes with a increase in screen space so it should even out nicely.
Otherwise I see the biggest benefit being I don't need a monster card to run games and can just crank up the AA. + The damn thing only cost me $250, originally offered the guy $275 but he was negotiable.
I'll let you guys know how it goes when I grab it tomorrow.

For me it's the opposite, the larger the screen, the higher the resolution must be. I got so used to 1920x1200 now, that whenever I sit labs in Uni, on their crappy PCs with 1024x768, it feels very claustrophobic... For games and movies it doesn't matter, but for desktop work it could be restrictive. It depends on what you do on the PC.
