Because they are on Blue Ray Disks?
Dunno.
Maybe it's for the same reason PS3 sales haven't been exactly stellar?
There isn't anything I want on PS3 at the moment anyway.

the protection is more advanced on the PS3....I guess. They're blu-ray drives, so maybe that has something to do with it? Even if you could, you'd have to burn it onto Blu-Ray discs, which the burners and media are expensive.

tedrotheredro, once again you're wrong. Technically, if it were hacked you'd think they'd make it possible to play game (isos) from a hard disk.
No one knows, but people are no doubt working on it - must be better protection. Forget games, i'd like to see it hacked for it's media centre potential..

ouch, ur hurting my e-feelings! Listen, I didn't claim to know exactly how to do it.
so are there no disc checks? you can just play games straight off the hard drive with no disc? seems like getting the bluray drive into debug mode, or being able to read Blu-Ray writables, would be the easiest way.

I heard a few weeks ago it's only a matter of time, the protection has been bypassed I guess the problem is putting all that into a nice little guide and workable easy-to-use software so that anyone can do it on their own ps3 not just a few people with advanced knowledge in programming.

its simple why it hasnt been hacked yet. just check who hacked the other systems .. mostly it has been the homebrew scene to run linux/whatsoever and not the pirates. game pirating was just a "bad" side effect in their opinion. ps3 allows them already to run what they want (*nix) so the "good" hackers arent interested.

Sorry bud, but I'll mostly have to claim bullshit on this. Look at the 360, the hacks that exist for it are in no way shape or form for homebrew. The ONLY thing you can do with this is play copied games. (I'm speaking of the Flashed drives). So saying the only thing good hackers care about is homebrew is pretty false.

the fw you use now is for that, but the idea was to run linux. they just needed a drive to run modified code. that was accomplished long ago. all that stealth/live stuff was added way later.

He is right. The first hack or mod for the 360 was to run Linux. They unlocked the DVD drive to be able to run the linux kernel to install it on the HDD. Then like evry good Free Software or "OPEN SOURCE" programmer, they released the code online to see what other people could do with it, which lead to the Modded FW to run Pirated games!

My first pioneer DVD burner cost much more than that. They'll come down in price before you know it as will the actual media.

I know guy who has an X360 Elite and a PS3. I just modded his X360 the day before yesterday, and now he wants to sell his PS3 as he mentioned he will probably never play it again.
