Hi /b/ ...
Ok just kiddin` ...
I was thinking about getting a new laptop for myself since my old crappy
Packard Bell Easynote S4 (laugh as much as u can ;P - i'm just a student...) is getting a bit rusty... and Fallout 3 just hit the market xD so I decided to google for a new one.
But the choice of graphic cards right now is giving me a serious headache :/ don't know a thing about it. I took a look at www.notebookcheck.net but still ...
I would go for a AMD Turion 64 X2 since I'm a AMD fanboy since athlon hit the market ;P but I think this would be a serious mistake Is the dual-core is any good for gaming.
And yea pretty much important thing to mention I will probably get it from states since my aunt is currently living there so I can get things from ebay or any shops like bestbuy easly.
Or if anyone know any good offer around UK that's cool with me ...
thx

the best suggestion is not to get a laptop for gaming.
asus z170-A || core i5-6600K || geforce gtx 970 4gb || 16gb ddr4 ram || win10 || 1080p led samsung 27"

cheers ...
Yea i know it's pretty pointless to get a laptop just for gaming since u can get a decent desktop for half of the price but since i'm spending most of my time at uni I wouldnt mind playing some decent games between the lectures. And since we're doing a lot of lan-partys
the mobility would be also be a advantage ...

yap , don't buy one , as simple as that
you'll just loose some of the experience of quality gaming on the pc
i've got an 8600GT on laptop that i bought a year ago and it was a not so good choice , i don't really have the time n'or the energy to play games during most weeks , weekends are for doing nothing aka being lazy or sleeping or some shit that doesnt involve brain power so ..rather than waste a considerable amount on a 'gaming laptop' , buy a small notebook and a PSP

I bought an hp 9700 for my med school/gaming laptop. I dont mind carrying it around and battery life isn't horrible (a little more than 2 hours during "use"..not talking gaming..if/when i game..i hook it up to the AC adapter. It's a dual core pent 2.5 with 4 gig of ram, 17" screen, and vista 64. So far i've been happy with it for gaming. If i cant play on the "highest" setting, i can usually lower the resolution one notch and still have all the "goodies" turned on. And it doubles great as a movie pc when i get bored looking at the arteries of the abdomen. I think i paid about 1100 bucks for it on ebay about 6 months back. Do i wish i still had my desktop with 25" lcd monitor..yes..but my old rig was too much to carry onto the plane:)

Well you can look at Asus for gaming laptops.
http://www.notebookreview.com/price/default.asp?brandName=Asus&brandID=30
Their pretty powerful but it's about the best your going to get. Personally I'd just stick with lenovo but those aren't gaming laptops.
Get an R60 or T60 for a laptop from lenovo and use that for school, and you can build a desktop hella cheap now days
