I too had problems installing trial version, for some reason during activation there was error msg. But installer managed to activate standard version. With standard version you wouldn't be able to add IDE drive, but it is appears there is no need for it. Just running trial version, and waiting for it to setup SCSI drive seems enough.

So, as soon as SCSI virtual drive is ready, exit DT. Copy hosts file(or modify yours) and start installing Advanced version from DTP4300303PRO folder and continue to follow remaining steps in .NFO. Then launch DT and add IDE drive. Everything should work now.

There is only one problem I couldn't solve. DTPro.exe process turns zombie upon exiting, so in order to launch GUI again I have to force quit the process. But as I always use DT via tray icon it doesn't bother me.

EDIT: Forgot, while installing over trial version I had errors, that files being replaced are in use. Shutting down DT didn't help. So I just used Unlocker on such files Very Happy Needless to say explorer.exe crashed in the process Very Happy

Hehehe Very Happy But if I am not mistaken, Ignore was equal to Skip at that prompt, as in ignore error, ignore the files being in use and just leave them as is.

I just reformatted from Vista x64 (where I had no problem activating this a week ago), to Vista x32 - following the same procedure I keep getting a "waiting for validation email" prompt. Looks like the D-Tools crew must have blacklisted something? Will keep fucking with it.

i think im also quite conservative about fancy bigger numbers (32 to 64). but no! that's not it; some rare shit didn't provide drivers for 64 edition, so it's not the right mellow time to use it, YET

im guessing you mean people that wont upgrade because hardware wasnt supported with newer OS's ?

its not fancy numbers either is it really ? 64 > 32 provides better memory management for 4gb and higher... also 64 bit will work fine with 2gb as ive used it while waiting replacing 2 dead sticks.. All you need is 36 running processes and turn off all the crap for cache etc in the OS.

So by that as well im guessing ur refering to people that have motherboards that cant run more than 2gb ram Razz

yeah, in my eyes only the physical memory limit (3.5gb) is the reason to upgrade to 64 some day.
but i've configured both my vista32 and xp32 to run as fast as they can, and both my machines have 2gb of ram - i don't need any more atm. i don't play almost at all, apps run just fine, and so on.

xp64 also introduced kernel patch protection, but so what? nothing serious never happened to my OSs.

Microsoft has stated that prior to installing the 64-bit operating system, one should be sure that the software you wish to run is capable of running under 64-bits, and that the hardware you wish to use has 64-bit drivers

hehe yes im aware I was just having a giggle with you, you can always tell in my posts if im not serious as ill always put a Smile or a Razz etc etc.. but generaly most games will run fine and apps with 2gb your correct of course if the Os is streamlined for max use of free ram.

Btw, Ive always thought you needed an avatar..

here u go.

They're not fingers. They're coxx

One cock in yo face is vista, the other is 64-bit.

On-topic : I knew that darkc0der was not elite enough for the protection in Daemon Tools. Half-working crack ftl. Well, not that any 0-day group managed it anyway Sad
