To my understanding the ultimate cinematic experience doesn't mean the movie is a 10/10 but it just feels fuckin' awesome when seen on a 50 foot screen with sound blasting at you from every direction.
Spoiler: | Crank
Once Upon a time in the west
2001
the matrix
Blow-Up
Trainspotting
The Fall

lol no need to say anything else. The soundtrack alone needs to be heard in a Colosseum!

pix too big. I dun agree with pi, others, butterfly effect, crash, Der Untergang, K Pax or Into The Wild . They just don't have the umph when seen in the theatre. Some may be good movies, but not that cinematix. Especially Into the wild, or Crash.
Sunsihine is amazing in the theater.

Seriously what person(thing is probably more right) would have CRANK as their ultimate favorite film?!??!?!?! It's just mindless action at a mediocre level.
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

Terminator 2 is a masterpiece, there's not much to argue about it. Crank is nothing more than a visually stunning mild action movie.
You're right that this thread is about movies that you would give a 10/10 rating either personally or generally, and if Crank had that impact on you, it sure deserves to be here, I believe that what LeoNatan and zipfero were trying to argue was that, contrary to many other movies posted here, Crank is not the kind of movie that generally deserves a 10/10 rating, it may deserve it on a personal level, since it had that special impact on some people, like your case, but generally speaking it's not a cinematic masterpiece.

to be frank you put cinematic experience in the thread. half the movies listed here have no cinematic value. they're good movies. but if you see them in the theater or with a great home theater system they won't leave no impact greater than the one they've left before. Crank is amazing on the big screen with big sound. But movies like Amelie and k-pax, though good, don't really change when you see them on the big screen or on a small tv. Same cinematic experience throughout. Heck COM is tons better than Amelie in the theater, but it's not itself a better movie.

maybe I should have used cinematic quality or cinematic art achievement, that was what I really meant, cinematic experience was at the back of my mind and that was what I posted, but you got a point there. sorry if I made myself misunderstood.
my true intention was to make a thread about movies that deserve a 10/10 rating, either by a personal opinion or for a overall quality.

Kingdom of Heaven DC I assume would make for an amazing cinematic experience. They did a limited theatrical run of the DC version, but only in the US and only for a very limited run.
