LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - An unlisted address may be God’s best legal defense against being sued.
A Nebraska judge has thrown out state Sen. Ernie Chambers’ lawsuit against God—because the Almighty wasn’t served a legal notice.
Chambers had sought a permanent injunction against God. He said the Almighty has caused “widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants.”
But the judge ruled that a plaintiff must have access to the defendant for a lawsuit to move forward.
Chambers, however, notes that “the court itself acknowledges the existence of God.” And he reasons that “since God knows everything, God has notice of this lawsuit.”
Chambers has 30 days to decide whether to appeal the decision.
