Ya, there was a lot of that shit coming from EBAY/Paypal for the longest time too, I don't see anymore of it now though.

With my visa when there was suspected fraud (I used a gas station 2 times on the same day) they cancel my card. I have to call them to re-activate.

It is a hard thing to explain to people (usually the older ones) that your bank only wants for email for mailing lists or newsletter crap, not official stuff.

sorry but unless the email is directly from my bank/paypal I never open it. If you fall for it you deserve what you get imo.

Yes. It has deactivated because of potential fraud 2 times. The gas station surprised me too. I think it was because it was a road trip so it was used 2 times for gas in another province.

The other time it was because I used it at burger king or wendy fast food and it turned out that place had a fraud problem and they suspended all credit card transactions between a certain time and date. Mine happened to be one.

Wasn't a big deal to call in. The business will lend you the phone to call customer service which has taken maybe 6 or 8 minutes or so.

I never deal with financial stuff over the internet or over the phone. If there's a problem or I have to change/add or do some thing, I go in personally and do it.

Lots of phone scams around here.

Had one tried on me the other day. Someone calls from a Unknown name, unknown number and says they are some Canadian agency doing a census and they need my full name, mother's madien name, social insurance number, birthdate, address and the thing that really made them sound stupid is they asked for my credit card info in the end. I just laughed and hung up.

Thats why, when it comes to my money, i dont play around. Everything is done in person, no internet, no phone
