So Im having a probem with audio
The audio works fine in the beginning loading screens and when he's on the plane talking about his parents but when he crashes into the water, there's no sound. I played a little figuring there was no sound at that point but as i got further, there was no sound whatsoever
Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this? there's no problem with my sound card or drivers or anything and if I can get sound at the beginning of the game, I dont understand why it stops as soon as I get to the actual game
so please, help
tia
EDIT
Nevermind, I figured it out. it has to be run in Windows Xp Service Pack 2 compatibility

You could try first applying 1.1 update AND updating your sound card driver if you havent already done so.
also It apears to be a vista issue. Simply run the .exe file in xp compatibility mode if you have onboard sound.
how to make xp comp mode :
Spoiler: |
right click on the executable
highligt the first option, Play (play)
click edit at bottom of window. that will open the properties window
click the compatibility tab
check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for "
from the drop down menu select windows xp (service pack 2)

here is the official bioshock sound problems thread incase if the above didnt work :

there are people having your symptoms so good luck finding a solution in a 57 page thread
