So I've scraped up some money now and I need to buy something nice!

I've been thinking of something that goes for minimum 350 euros and maximum 500 euros, MAYBE MORE!

I'm not sure of what to buy as I'm not much experienced in the laptop business, if some people could link me to some european sites/Swedish I'd very much appreciate it, I'm also up for American sites that send wares to Sweden, I've also heard about Hong Kong so I'm also up for that, if it is secure.

So basically the best laptop for 350-500 euros, I don't want one that is to big since I'll be using this mostly for schoolwork, but i want to maybe run some low-end games such as WC3.

So yeah, fire up those links!

thanks!

Check out the ASUS Eee-PC
LINK

This is in German, but you can see the specs and the price € 249,-*
Sort of in your price range...a bit less, but anyho.
LINK
The prob with the Eee's is the hard drive, normally they are pretty small "4GB" but you could always buy a external USB or something.

It might be to small for what you need, but I find the concept of the Eee brilliant. There are of course other models in their product pallet, as you can see in the 1st link above.

Yeah I looked at those, unfortunately they don't seem to appealing to me Razz
I need something with some hard drive space as well seeing as it might be practical to fire up some movies when you're going out of the country or such.. but thanks for the tip man!

The Advent 4211 (MSI Wind) is similar to the EEEPC but has better specs for cheaper! It also has a real hard drive Wink! The best bet is to look around at the UMPC market (eeePC, Msi Wind, Acer One are the main 3) and see how they compare to your requirements.

Got the Advent myself (using it to type this in fact) and personally I love it. Only issue is with the WiFi drivers but to be honest, the price and other features more than make up for it.

Hmm ok, do you happened to know any European shops who sell it cheap?
Or do you happened to know if they sell it cheap in any Hong kong website Razz?

In fact this goes out to everyone, if you know a good website I'd appreciate it if you could list it so i could check the price difference between Sweden and so on.

Hey just a quick update.

I'm most likely going to buy the Lenovo ThinkPad SL300.

I'm wondering when the SL series are going to hit sweden/europe, I cannot seem to find any dealer who sells it.

Thanks.

I bought a Lenovo 3000 N200 0769-BSG last February with the following specs:

Core 2 DUO T7250(2GHz)
2GB RAM
160GB 5400rpm HD
15.4in 1280x800 LCD
256MB nVIDIA GeForce FX Go7300
CDRW/DVDRW
Intel 802.11agn wireless
Bluetooth
10/100 Ethernet
Fingerprint reader
Camera
WinVista Home Premium

I paid 615 euros, which was a really good price back then. I must say I'm VERY happy with it, it really is a great quality machine with good performance! BTW I added 2GB for 50 euros, which was also worth it. Cool

"Also when the Prince of Persia movie they're making turns out good then I will upload pictures of me punching myself in my tiny unsatisfying penis" - Yahtzee

GeForce 7900GT 256MB
4 x 250GB SATAII in RAID5
