I guess it was a matter of time. One of the fans have been making strange noises for some time, especially at boot up. Today when I fired up the PC, it just died after bios load. I managed to load Vista once or so, then blip!.

1st I panicked and thought it was the mobo or something (major operation as I am watercooling=warranty void) The LED next to the RAM modules where just sitting on red. Tried with other RAM sticks, same...then in desperation I ripped out my Son's 600W OCZ PSU (He is sleeping over at friends Wink ) And God be praised it worked.

I will have to buy a new one 1st thing after work in the morn, as my Son will have me hung by my ball bags If I don't fix it. Actually that might even happen today when he gets home Smile.

As I need the PC today to scan some sketches and work in Photoshop I have a pretty good excuse Wink.

Thinking to get a Tagan Piperock 800w (they have it in stock at my fav PC shop here in Frankfurt (K&M)

Just noticed!. My mouse is sort a freezing/skipping when ever i do stuff. Its just sort a for a micro second, but enough to be totally annoying. Have the latest drivers etc.
Wonder if it's the PSU 600W that is the cause of this.

Running
EVGA 8800GTX
8x fans (4x120mm for watercooling) 1xCorsair cooler (3x minifans) 2x120mm in top of my case 1x120 at the HD cage.
12VLiang Pump
4x HD's (2x raptors SATA) (1xWD 350GB SATA) (1xWD USB)
2x2Gb Corsair dominators 1066Mhz
Creative Fatality Extreme Gamer FPS

Ideas?

I got a Antec TruePower Quattro 850W after reading quite a few complimenting reviews. I wanted to have juice when I upgrade my PC.

This shop don't have Antec PSU's, only cases etc. As i need it PRONTO! i guess i am a bit limited as what they have in stock.

Update on the stuttering problem. I forgot to connect the DVD burner, it was connected with the SATA cable but no SATA power cable .

All ok now.

guys...
i don`t get it, really....

YOU NEVER EVER NEED 800 WATT PSU!!!!

If you dont do crossfire/sli a 400W quality psu will awlways do the job. even with a 280 GTX.

Get a good silent quality psu ~ 500 W and you will be fine.

The stuttering happened after I installed my Son's 600W OCZ. Fixed it as I forgot to plug in the DVD burner (Mentioned earlier in this thread)

All works as it should now. I also reinstalled the BIOS and Chipset drivers...just to be sure.

When you overclock your CPU, have multiple hard disks and intend on running high-end graphics cards, you'd be surprised you actually do need those high-end PSUs (my 600W OCZ PSU blew up because I asked too much of it). So, maybe for your one 320GB HD and default clocked CPU, you may be fine with a silent PSU. But saying one would never need such a PSU, that's plain ignorant.

core2duo 8200@4.00 Ghz , 8800 GTX, 4 GB Ram, 2x500 GB + 1x1000 GB HDD, DVD-RW, 5x 120 cooler, + some gadgets.

all running with Enermax MODU82+ 425W.

I never ever had one crash or bluescreen or shutdown.

Turned out that the website of that shop was showing false info. The Enermax was not in stock. So I went for the original plan and bought the Tagan 800 Piperock.

Looks a bit like the Circus was in in town...but she does the job .

...DAM! i need a new case. will get one after I get my 4870x2 Wink.

Get a Thermaltake Armor. You have so much stuff in there, as do I, so you'd benefit a lot from a full-tower case.
