Like .. klatu woaahhh barata nikato dudes!

CGI looks good and stuff , i still consider the fact that Will Smith's kids is in the movie in a main role a sort of product placement:)

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

it's hilarious that reeves, the dumbest of the cast, plays the character of supposedly superior intellect

I was about to start a huge rant about remaking this classic but it's actually a pretty good trailer and the cast is impressive.

I'm one of those weird people who actually don't mind Keanu Reeves in movies, though Smile

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

They should be shot. Not at all what the original movie was like, and the original was a classic and perhaps one of the most important sci fi movies in history (if not the most important)... massive sigh.

I really cant be bothered reading up on this, but correct me if im wrong. From the trailer it looks like its some kind of eco / climate change / man killing earth / tree hugging / doomsday bullshit. Probably more factual than that al gore flick, but shit non the same.

They adapted it to the current times. In 1950's everything stopping was scary! these days it's meh! Very Happy Laughing Laughing it might still be good. if the message is the same. then it'll be good. it might still be. Don't worry about what klatuu does Very Happy worry about how it affects the people. That's what the original was about Razz People... Razz

Anything form of art of the past that was made it to legend status always gets raped in the end by something like this.

I'm the type who once something gets tainted I stop drinking from the filthy fountain that once gave joy. For example the awful X-Men film after watching it I never watched the sequals. I stopped reading all X-Men comics its dead to me. Now sadly this great classic will be dead to me as well.

You don't think it would scare people to shit today if EVERY SINGLE MOTORIZED AND ELECTRICAL PEICE OF EQUIPMENT ON EARTH STOPPED WORKING?

Tens of thousands would instantly die due to life support. Cars dead on the streets. No cell phones, no home phones, no computers, no lights... and all exactly when one individual said so?

They aren't adapting to modern times, they're selling out. They're going for a cheap thrill rather than sticking with the original message of the movie.

Seriously... now in a movie if all technology stopped working... people wouldn't give a fuck. that's not scary anymore. Yah it'd be scary in real life and we'd be at a fuckin panic riot and shit. But srsly... death nearing and shit... monsters... aliens... etc... the unknown... scares people far more than no technology in a movie. It'd be lame to be honest. To a lot of people, it'd be lame. They're making a movie that will sell and that will prolly carry the same message only said in much more sci-fi manner. THe original one rocked a shit load. When the elevator stopped and shit i was like Surprised everything is gone and done for a brief moment and people are terrified and there's this one guy with this girl who should be shitting herself cause she could die at any second and he makes her feel normal. Very Happy Thas cool. Even at an end, there's something good. Razz

I jush hope this remake will have at least a decent plot. I'll ignore the original and see this one as it's brand new and see if it's decent. Cause comparing it to the original would be like comparing... fuck i dunno... Razz Hero to Roshomon... ?

Laughing

Still... effects look nice. Neo can pull off that cute, not dangerous at all, but really is, kind of a look. So he might do a cool klaatu Razz you never know. Forget the original and don't see it as a remake. See it as a movie that has the same plot, same title, diff actors, better f/x kind of a movie. Very Happy Like episode 1 Very Happy

The electricity was left on in the hospitals in the original.

Looks awesome. Will get the original from 1951. Seen it long time ago, but is a Sci-Fi classic none the less.

KLATU , DUDE!
like , klatoo barado nikato .. whoooaaaahh

well , i have mixed feelings , but it's a good choice for Keanu , cause he's good at playing a silent and distant character , but i don't think that he's dumb in reality
he really was great in A Scanner Darkly and in The Matrix (screw the sequels)
