No, this one can't render colors + AA together.

1080p support isn't the only factor which comes to mind when buying a TV, you should obviously read about the subject before falling into the "marketing plots" of todays salesmen. I picked the PX80 due to vibrant colors, massive contrast and support of 24p and 100 hz. And it still does support 720p.

Anyway you spin it, that plasma is not even 720p. However the vibrant the colors are, it can't show you 1280 pixels, and it has to downscale. I was only pointing that out. And at those sizes (42"+) you do notice when the image is not even 720p.

And you should know better than to suggest I fall for marketing ploys when it comes to anything related to audio-visual equipment.

The above plasma is perfectly capable to display 720p of course some downscaling has to be done but it display it just fine due to its resolution, and its not noticable to see it on a 42 inch screen (even with a viewing distance of 1m) On sets above 50' we can begin to discuss the matter of 720p vs. 1080p.
Above all I choosed more true to life colors, better dark levels and a much more realistic picture then most high end LCDs. With proper calibration it even matches the Kuro sets in color which are seen as the best TV's out there.

And you should know better than to suggest I fall for marketing ploys when it comes to anything related to audio-visual equipment.

If you are well aware of that I still suggest you take other aspects into account before accusing my choice of TV Razz

720p=1280x720, yours max 1024x768
vibrant colours or not it's still not 720p

everything till 32" must be at least 720p plasma/lcd

42" must be at least 720p preferably 1080p

tihkal ordered good tele however Wink

Sure you can but it still wont match in colors, contrast, features etc. There are a number of compromises you have to take in that price class. Sure you can get full hd but the colors and black levels will suffer in that class.

true Very Happy

it's just no way in my right mind i would swap 1080p sammy for half assed panasonic Embarassed

besides i can't stand plasma, it gives me headache after couple of hours and they tend to burn out

so i always steer clear from plasma
fact that u can see your own and anything that points into tele reflections is retarded
unless they designed new mat plasma screens which i haven't seen yet

plus that shit load of cons

Cons

damn Mortibus seems like the last plasma screen you've seen was 8 years ago Razz

First of all yes, Plasma has a clear coating but it does have anti glare to reduce any reflection. And mine doesnt give any headache (maybe due to the refresh rate) and the panel itself has 100.000 hours of life span which should last 20 years Razz And image burn and retentions is nearly gone and are not visible on PX80 (at least not mine) Razz

EDIT:

Small cons in day to day use. A number of reviews ignore the above simply because its nothing note worthy really. Of course there are cons the set is not a Pioneer or anything like that but the pros definitely weight much more overall

Let me ask you what brand was it? And which model? Of course if we are talking Phillips and Samsung in the plasma department then I wouldnt take it as a general decision Razz
