|
 |
Hey guys.
I recently got a new pc and set up my old in a small LAN for me and a mate that comes by.
We are both into RTS, RPG and some FPS games, but it seems few of the games today support (cracked) LAN multiplayer.
Hellgate : London, requires the online server crap
NWN2 : MOTB : requires authenticated CD keys, even for LAN
COD4 : No bots so no Lan plan unless you wanna play 1v1
On goes the list with most we have tried.
Now we have plenty of RTS games and of course Rainbow Six : Vegas for FPS, but thats pretty much it.
Does anyone here have suggestions, some games that can be played on a tiny lan cracked ??
Thanks in advance guys

NWN can be pretty kickass. Get some cool modules and you can play for a long time.

Yepp, and you can play the cracked one in lan too. Just block it from reaching the main server.

Gears of War is aight, just awkward sometimes, because it has no build it text chat ( Epic)... But with external tools (or being one near the other) will make it so much more fun.

nw2master.bioware.com or something...you need to block it in the host file - yes.
Edit : 127.0.0.1 nw2master.bioware.com

F.E.A.R Combat ? It is free and is very interesting. You can play with your friends and make different tactics.
Check www.joinfear.com
Download the game, make an account with a valid e-mail address and you'll gain an e-mail with the key for playing online.

He wants 2 vs AI, not 1v1.

For RTS, try Warhammer 40k - Dark Crusade with Skirmish AI mod 2.60.
For FPS, I'd recommend Serious Sam 1 or 2.
As for RPG games, try the original NWN 2, it does work in LAN. As Parallax said, Diablo 1-2 is always a winner, but you can give Sacred a go too.

I can just add, I tried creating a multiplayer game in NWN2 MOTB and it tried to connect to 127.0.0.1 as it should, but it still gave a cd-key error, so something is obviously still managing to check cd-keys
And I edited the host file, so it should not be that.
Any suggestions anyone ?

Any Battlefield title should do you really. The bots are not the sharpest knife in the drawer but its pretty fun nevertheless.

The problem may then be that I only have original NWN2, I don't have original MOTB.
As soon as I try to create a game it will fail with "Connecting to server 172.0.0.1:5521" Failed, Unauthorized cd key or some such.

Battlefield 2 might do the trick
you can play with your friend on one team with bots, against more bots..

It actually gives me this.
Attempting to find server
IP = 127.0.0.1
Server found: Attempting to log in
Connection Error
Your cd key is unauthorized
So it seems to connect to some bloody server, manage it and still fail.
Blast it!
Anthirs, did your mate ever try to create a game, or only you with authorized cd-keys ??

That's how we used to test hacks for BF2/BF2142 etc. Set up a coop server with bots and shoot it out

I don't know if the exp. works in LAN or not, as we never tried it with my mates, but we got the original working for the three of us by using different serial keys and shutting our internet connections down (it might work to block it with a firewall too). That's all we did if I remember correctly.

Yep, you're right. I don't know how I missed that.
EDIT: As for more RPG recommendations, I seem to recall something about some of the Baldur's Gate games being coop, but I don't really remember which ones. They're a bit old though.
EDIT2: While searching for info on BG, I found this. Maybe it'll be useful to you:
