... You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the deepest inner mind to... The Outer Limits.

This series still owns! Recently started watching again since there aren't that many shows worth watching running currently (and I missed quite a few eps back when this was running on tv).

No doubt it'll take a long time before I'm finished with all seven seasons, but I was wondering what other similar shows are worth watching? I reckon I'll have to get the original Outer Limits at some point as well, but is f. ex. the 80's Twilight Zone any good?

Outer Limits is a terrific if slighty low-budget show. My favorite ep was the one with Robert Patrick who was imprisoned by an alien race trying to invade earth.
He befriends a strange human girl in his cell. The ending still terrifies me to this day, to realize what Robert Patricks character did and slowly rotting away in prison with no chance of stopping it.

Also the ep whit the senator trying to convince a commity about an impending alien attack stands out.

A shame they didnt show the rest of the seasons on swedish tv.

I remember one episode where some dude had a cyborg g/f and she said she was "fully functional" (hint, hint), but she got jealous when he started banging a human chick.

Good times lol

Yeah second ep of first season actually, watched it today.. And it even had full frontal nudity, guess they did a bit of editing for the tv run here, since I would remember those tits. Very Happy

There was an episode I watched as a kid, but I wasn't able to watch it till the end.

One day suddenly the communications to one side of the earth stop working. It seems as if the sun is burning the other side of the earth. And that it will burn the other one too, while the earth rotates.

Fuck I even had nightmares Laughing would be nice to watch this special episode again Smile

Shit that does sound like a terrifying proposition, especially since the terminator moves at approximately 1000 miles per hour. No chance to outrun it. Crying or Very sad

i used to watch the twilight zone when i was a kid, the outer limits came much later. it's got a better overall feeling, i'd say, when compared to outer limits. outer limits seems like smth from the sci-fi channel. watchable, but kinda cheap.
i might be talking out of my ass, though, since i haven't seen an episode from either of these in years Smile

Yeah the production values aren't all that great, but they're ok enough. Plus it's fun to spot all those known actors doing guest roles (like young Alyssa Milano playing a college girl who gets infected with an alien parasite that forces her to have sex with every man she encounters - rofl Laughing).

And some eps are really good, too. Just watched the Robert Patrick ep Acer mentioned earlier and it was kickass.

Yay it's Colonel Tigh as the evil scientist villain! Laughing

LOTS of familiar faces in this show, it's like half the fun of watching it.
