Can you plz explain to me why you want that POS on youre board? If you want good cooling get water. This is overkill in every sense of the word. It goes on board if youre board has holes around chipset.

Yea...water, i know. I wanted to wait a bit as i am getting new stuff (case, mobo, gracard etc) next year. Thing is, the mounting on my Scythe seems to be wacky, reseated that bastard 2 times already, but it seems that those pegs keep slipping out...getting highish temps again.

So i thought just to get something proper air cooling wise until i get the new stuff. And my son will get this gear after anyway, and if i know him he will not care about temps and stuff, so I want a solution that just works. The Ultra-X does get some pretty good reviews so...

You have that Antec case am i right? That crap is to small for water. You are first timer with water so my suggestion would be to go after complete solutions. They are not as good as hand made but difference is way to small and simply its not worth the risk.I would suggest that you go for this. http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Chassis/fulltower/Kandalf_lcs/vd4000bws.asp
You get extreme case with water cooling. Complete front side of case is one big radiator with 3 12cm fans.Thats a great plus because its the biggest part of water system and its outside not in. You get water pump with resevoir that goes inside the case. There is 1 cpu block so you need to buy one block for mobo chipset. Anyway this pump will be enough for cpu+mobo+gpu cooling. My advice would be for you to start with this. The reason is that you can allways upgrade the pump and tank to gain bettar throughput of water. The biggest issue is that radiator and thats taken care of. If you want to build youre own water colling we can do that too but it will be preety hard if you dont have xp. Anyway tell me what you think.

Na got a Lian Li V1100B Plus II ...I will get a TemJin SST-TJ07 as it seems one of the best for WC.
I totally agree with the 3 12cm fans!!!!...But as I said, I will go for it some time in Feb, when the new stuff comes. I got the Ultra-X yesterday + some cable management stuff from AC-Ryan...somet to do on the weekend Wink. But you are 100% right with the water cooling concept...Would you recomend some kit, like Assetek or Innovatek ?. Innovatek is really easy to get here in Germany, and I only hear good things about their quallity and stuff. And yes, you are right, I am one of those guys that are sort a freaked out with WC...Virgin etc
