Lately i've been having some strange issues with my computer. It began with windows not loading properly. It went past windows loading and i got a black screen after that. It was lightly black not like when the computer screen is off.

i got error messages in 2 games, WoW and Gothic 3. Both got issues with memory atm so i don't know if that was my ram or not. Then i pressed f8 when winows was about to boot to get the list of options and i selected run windows on last working setting.. Dunno if thats right on english OS and it worked.

I just recently restarted my comp and i couldn't get past the loading screen this time so i tought it might be the ram and i ran memtest 86 wich ofc gave no errors whatsoever. Ran about 6 passes. Figured out that when i pull 1 ram stick out of the machine then i get to boot to windows. But i can't load windows with both. Both work if i do it that way.

6 passes isn't that many to properly test memory sticks, but not that less either. Then you say Windows loads fine with only one stick, so more suspicion.

Maybe it's that time of the year/month/week to delete the current Windows installation and reinstall it. That is the easy solution. Put the second stick in and reinstall. If still you have problems, then you'll know it's the mem.

Just to be sure, let MemTest run overnight (should be a lot of passes). That should throw some suspicion away from mem, but memtest is not 100% fool proof. Try swapping memsticks and see if the other still runs windows well. Maybe it's the motherboard that is causing the problems, that is very well possible.

could be several things, motherboard going bad slowly, powersupply, Ram like you suspected, although in my experience this is rarely the case, it's most often the motherboard. Vidcard is less likely, you can usually tell be strange glitches in games, so that's probably not it. sorry for speaking in such general terms but these things are hard to diagnose, best bet as always: start swapping components till you find the broken one Smile (i know, easier said then done)
