so i was lifting some heavy(ish) junk into the car this morning. I came inside and sat down. When i got up again, i noticed a strange ache/pain that i couldnt quite locate the source of, as in, it felt like my back then i wasnt sure if it was my chest. Its right in the middle, just above my first abdominal muscle. I still am not sure if its front or back, strange that i cant pinpoint the pain. Anyway, it hurts if i twist, move after sitting still for a few mins, and when i breath in. Sad Its not a bad pain but sometimes can be a little annoying and feels like i have pressure on my breathing. WTF?

Does it hurt when you breathe?
Where is the pain, do you feel it's in your muscles or does it feel deeper like it comes from your lungs?

it hurts when i breath in sometimes, sometimes it doesnt. when i breath in deeply, its fine then as i get to the maximum breath it hurts right in the center of my torso front + back. However, its hard to locate the pain exactly. somtimes when i move it hurts, then if i repeat the movement i dont feel a thing Surprised

Go to the Doctor. It might be a small lung tear. Are you quite skinny?

This sounds like a garden variety chest burster. Have you been in contact with any face huggers lately?

How long have you had this?
It could be what we call a "Pneumo thorax" it's known that skinny, tall and blondehaired boys/menn have a higher risk at getting a spontaneous tear. Reasons to get it is maybe just a cough.
Pneumo Thorax is a tear on the lungsac and the air goes into the pleura (sac thats around your lungs) and this will make the pressure on the lung higher as time goes by. The lung gets presssurized and will eventually collapse.

It can also be caused by trauma, but i doubt thats the case with you

I'm not saying you got this, but from what i hear it might be possible.
My advice is to go and see a doctor, especially if it has only gotten worse since you got it.

I must of done something similar. There is a spot in my back that is killing me. Beneath my shouler blade and next to my spine. Whenever I take a breath it hurts alot. It bothers me when I drive. Feels like I am being stabbed in the back.

I think mine is a pulled muscle.

chances are if you've been bending over with your legs straight, then you may have torn a muscle. A slight tear can be painfull at the time but go down in a day or so, or just get agravated, now and again.

Always always bend the knees. It's more important the older you get. After 35 you risk slipping a vertibral disc and causing real trouble.

Try standing straight in front of a mirror, with your top half exposed. If you can see any slight curving or your posture looks slightly of centre, then you should probably see your GP, who can refer you to a physio.

You must take any pains in your back very seriously, any tears or changes to your pysical anatomy can cause mis-alignment as you grow older. It's like a pack of cards, once one muscle tears, other problems can follow later, sometimes as long as five or ten years later.

Case in point, I fractured my femour working out two years ago near my knee. Ignoring it at my peril, I now suffer constant back pain, caused by favouring one leg over the other. You don't do this intentionaly, it's just that one side of your body gets favoured more than the other causing muscle loss, and weekness.

Of course you may also have torn a muslce below the rib cage which can be quite common, but I guess will heal itself.
