got a problem with the download speed with vista. normally i get 360 kb/s with xp but with vista it starts downloading with 250 kb/s and after 2-3 secs i only have 40-50kb/s. anyone noticed this problem and maybe has got a solution to fix the dl speed with vista?

i have tried to execute the tcp patch for vista, disabled the tcp autotuning, disabled ipv6, tested different wlan drivers but without any success..i have no antivirus suite running..

I use vista 64 and I max out my 10mb connection regularly. Maybe you need to check your settings or your isp maybe throttling your downloads.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one

I work at an ISP and we also got reports about vista having some REALLY fucked up bug.

Normal flash-speedtest will show just fine, but if you download manually from http, it will dumb down the speed @ about 45% maybe more.

Now to the fucked up part... And this I cant confirm myself(since I dont work with these things) is that you have to manually unplug you sound-card or disable it in device manager...

Yeah I know this sounds fubar, but it seems it works for some, for what Iv heard. Worth a shot...
