I'd recommend Serenity at any time, so... Razz

It's a continuation of the excellent short-lived Firefly. So if you haven't seen that either, you better watch that first (14 episodes), then watch Serenity. Watching them all in HD is an amazing treat. Very Happy

Well, leave it to fox to ruin great shows, while keeping crap forever! I don't think there are any plans. There was talk about a second movie if the sales of the DVD and HDDVD were high enough, and they were, but as far as I know, nothing has been announced.

Liansk, watch the show as well, it's just as good as the movie, if not better.

better? well couple of episodes is ok to watch but some of them especially first one are extremely boring, there is such a small amout of sfx not even worth to be watched in HD imo

i still like Serenity but hell script writers were takin a piss in ffly

anyway if they make something else it should be Serenity 2 not ffly

OK, I just watched Contact (in HD, of course), and I must say, it is amazing. Some might find it boring (aka no action or anything Rolling Eyes), but really, it makes you think, and it avoids stereotypical views on alien life forms. I think it's very good.

Ignore everyone being stupid when it comes to FF, its a fantastic show, certainly well worth watching prior to the movie.. Without it some stuff doesn't make total sense.

I enjoyed most of it, it really portrayed the social reactions to the scenario realistically. But the ending ruined it for me, I was hoping for either them not to show you what happens, or something catastrophic.

I agree, the characters are so well realised and it has that unique Whedon touch of having great humour and camaraderie which can instantly turn into something deadly serious. Like when the captain locks Jayne in the airlock and threatens to open it in space.

Now I'm looking for the book. I'm reading it's much better than the movie (surprise surprise).

Yep I hear that too, thats the case far too often. I guess it's difficult to match the depth that a book can provide with the cinematic medium. Still, there are a few films adapted from novels which surpass the source material. Personally I think Starship Troopers did, and a few of the Steven King adaptations.

I didn't bother to look for the contact book though. The story just isn't epic enough for me, I like books where the characters go on a journey, either physically or metaphorically.
