I can't believe I'm posting this, as I've set up ftp-servers several times in the past, but now I can't get it working

Well, the actual ftp-server works fine, connecting to it with my internal IP works as it should, but I can't connect with my external IP, seems like something is blocking

My router is a DLINK Dir-100 and I'm only using Windows (Vista) Firewall, which is disabled during testing (so firewall shouldn't be an issue here)

According to this page I have set the router up as it should:
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-100/FTP.htm
But still no luck connecting

I'm using Azureus too, where I sort of have the same problem (it has some connecting issues too). I have set the ports to be forwarded the same way as the above link descibes. Azureus tells me "Firewall/NAT (TCP) reachability problem. Refer to the wiki for help". I've read through the wiki, which doesn't help me at all

Is there something I'm missing here? With Windows Firewall disabled (and no other firewalls installed) the firewall shouldn't cause any problems, and with all the right ports forwarded to the right internal IP what else is missing Confused

Are you testing from within the LAN? Because that will probably not work. Test from some remote computer.

I have tested it from computers not within the LAN, doesn't work there either

Different clients, none of them can connect to the server (and the server log shows to connection attempts)

Connecting to 91.100.**.** port 21
Connection timed out

Nothing happens on the server

Edit: I sent you a pm with information of the server, so you could try to connect yourself if you want

Usually you also have to forward the passive ports which you have configured within the server software to the internal ip address you are using. Just forwarding port TCP 21 isn't working with passive ftp, but you should see at least some login attempts in the ftp log. To which ip have you bound the ftp server?

If by DMZ you mean Demilitarized Zone, then it's disabled. There's no settings to change except enabling/disabling it (and if enabled write an IP address)

I have enabled passive mode and inserted my internal IP (192.168.0.100). I have set my router to forward ports 1024-1025 (which are the ports I've given in the settings on the ftp-server)

I use same software- bulletproof.

Example- you will use port 3500
In bulletproof>options or settings> you need to set it to listen to ports 3500 to 3600

in your router - you dont need to enable DMZ. Keep it disabled so nobody can get in (except for ftp port 3500)
in router settings>port forwarding> you need to set ports from 3500-3600

thats it. should work.
