Lower your card's clock and memory speed by about 5-10% and test.

1)could be overheating, maybe they tested in open case or without case, that is if yours closed
2)not enough juice from your psu

try 3dmark 2k3 mother nature test, if u get white sparkles on the water and other abnormalities then it's your gfx, could be your mobo but i doubt that

@ ginge51
What is your memory configuration (I mean the dimms), I see you have 1.75 gigs ... maybe something faulty there ? Mixing old and new ones, are we ?
Also try underclocking your card to see if it's graphics card related and maybe install the AMD dual core cpu drivers.

did you solve it? only certain things will cause artifacts rather than crashes/bsod's. Good advice to look at your psu, even if it states it has enough amps on each rail, if it's a generic or basically crap psu (such as qtec) it may be PFC and share watts between the rails and is no good basically (could try disconnecting additional drives which aren't essential, dvd and extra hard disks etc). Some of them also state the peak wattage/amps and can be misleading. Also did you try underclocking your gfx and trying the artifact tester? this is the best/first thing for you to try in your process of elimination..
not feeling your quote in your sig tho, thatcher should be sent into the middle of the ocean somewhere and have a nuke shoved up her arse (OT soz)..
oh and 1.5 gig is a bad amount if memory to run. Should stick to two sticks running at 1t unless your rig can cope with 4 sticks at 1t. But any other configuration would probably lose performance even with the extra ram because of the speed hit it takes..
