Thats the trailer and on imdb it shows it in post production..

What a sleeper, I had no idea this was even being filmed. I am a huge halloween fan, and I loved all of Rob's films so far.

This is gonna be the SHIT! Cool

Will probably fail miserably to deliever the tension and suspence that Carpenter did with the original Halloween.
I'm not a big fan of the Halloween-series, not even the first two ones are amongst my favourites. But, you can't ever take away from it, the first one in particular, how incredibly creepy it is.
I can see this being more of an out and out slasher, something that the original always, IMO, managed to rise above.

Under normal circumstances I would agree with you. A Halloween remake would be a terrible idea seeing is how all of the recently release Michael myers flicks have been complete dog shit. But if you look at the interview of Rob and Jimmy kimmel you will see that Rob really wants to take the IP back to its scary roots. The reason he took the script and agreed to direct it was because he is such a huge fan of Michael myers and the original films that he felt Halloween sort of lost its way. And if there is one person who I think could take the film and make it scary it would be Rob Zombie.. Watch his other flicks.. the dude is a genius.

Read some of the reviews ...

Quote:
MOVIE CONSENSUS
Zombie has improved as a filmmaker since "House of 1000 Corpses" and will please fans of the genre, but beware -- the horror is nasty, relentless, and sadistic.

MOVIE CONSENSUS
There's an abundance of gore in this derivative horror movie, but little sense or wit.

I thought 1000 corpses was a little cheesy and fairly mediocre, but TDR has quite a different tone, and a much more straightforward plot.
