|
 |
Seems everytime I try to get XP Home, it's not bootable. I've downloaded the boot discs from MS, but booting with floppys is a pain. I have XP Home and the boot discs. Is there a way to make a bootable XP Home? TIA!

CD is not bootable. I want to make it bootable, either by combining the XP & boot discs or some other way.

Look for the XP boot image data somewhere on the net. It's a really small file that holds, well, the boot sector data. Then use Nero (or something alike) to burn a boot cd.

It's because morons make changes to the ISOs and are careless enough not to add the boot image. If you have such ISO, delete it and get a good one.

That's it exactly. Must have downloaded XP Home a dozen times, and none were bootable. The last was a November 2006 Update, but the ISO was bad. I couldn't burn the .iso but could extract the files. So I needed to make it bootable. With Vista being so demanding, i wanted a working copy of XP Home for my older computers.
THANKS everyone!
