ok so i have hold of the 360 and im thinking excellent but what the FUCK is going on?
SCREEN TEARING ON EVERY GAME
FUCKIN PATCHES NEEDED
LAG IN GAMES
UNPLAYABLE
fucking microsoft! 3 steps backwards these cunts cant even enjoy my game because SPASTIC V SYNC IS OFF LIKE A FUCKIN 1999 GEFORCE 2 GAME
arg most powerful fucking console in the world and these cunts are dropping v sync for FRAME RATES YOU FUCKIN KIDDING ME

sell it then and get a PS3, mines fine, must be my TFT monitor
(although i know of 3 games that do suffer from tearing but don't hinder gameplay)

well i've only got 2 games for my 360 so far - pgr3 & dead rising, and have no tearing/syncing/popup issues at all.... have only noticed mild popup on some demos but have not yet seen any tearing issues... had my 360 for a couple of months now...touch wood no problems
sorry you arent happy with yours... are u sure it has adequate ventilation? used to get tearing on my old gf2 card in my pc when it got too hot... just a thought

mc manic why you assume ps3 will be better! ps i have dead rising and i see tearing perhaps you arent wise to it once you see it once you see it always
i say i see so many 360s failed and returning, of course ps1 failed of course ps2 failed of course xbox 1 failed but i never before seen people on 7 REPLACEMENTS LIKE THE 360 i think we can see it was rushed out to be first because the only way microsoft would stand a chance is with no competition you see! but i hate this, non stop bugs these CUNTS i say arent even trying or perhaps the 360 is impossible to develop for id RATHER PLAY LOCO ROCO LOL

some games definetly have tearing. graw comes to mind. most games i have is no problem.
i am a bit worried about the patches thing though. a game should be final when it hits the market.
but overall im happy with my gaming experience.

i'm still on my launch day 360, and i only said get a PS3 because your obviously not happy with the 360!
Graw, Blazing Angels and the cut scenes in Saints Row is the only time i've noticed tearing, now if you want to mention framedrops well thats a different matter and there is alot of games that suffer from this but the only game that i know that detracts from gameplay due to framedrops is Need For Speed Most Wanted and i still completed that even.

The 360 will never reach its full potential until they totally get rid of the last gen consoles. Making a game for Xbox, PS2, and the 360 just allows developers to do a half ass port for the 360. I'm also a little bit pissed about this lame patch situation, it seems like we are the play testers and if that's the case games should not be $60 bucks. Saints Row is the buggiest game I've ever played on any console. The online is horrible and the tearing and framerate issues are crazy for a game that got pushed because it wasn't done. You go on Volitions site and they delete any thread that is critical of their game, and they will ban you if you're persistant on trying to get some answers. They try to say that their game is the most powerful game on the 360, and that they are using all 3 of the cores...hahaha Tell you something though, the clowns at Volition didn't even allow the game to see if you had a HDD attached so the game spins your drive to hell and back and gives you all of those fancy last gen pop ins.

The blame is entirely with the developers. SOME of them can still do great work, but they're becoming a minority.
Proxy to the problem is the consumer who gobbles up sub-par carbage and asks for seconds. Saints Row is a prime example. It has nearly unplayable stuttering almost all the time while driving and slows to a crawl in the most ridiculous places. Yet its one of the top-selling games and people are foaming at the mouth defending it and claiming it runs perfectly. And to make matters worse you only need to read revies like the IGN review that claims "solid 30fps performance". Apparently falsehoods and outright lies are acceptable in computer journalism.
So why should the devs give a bullfucking rats ass about performance when fanboys still buy their product and even go to WAR in its defence all over the net FOR FREE. The reviewers they can brainwash and buy with advertising money and exclusive deals.
And launch-day 360 here aswell. The platform is one of the best ever made, right after the xbox1 (in solid hardware and ease of development).

I agree, the devs are the ones letting stuff slide. I have been very happy with my 360, and im glad i purchased it. And i enjoy Saints row, i wouldnt say its unplayable; but to argue it doesnt have framerate issues is crazy.

I'm playing it right now and I'm enjoying it, but some times I fire it up and its almost impossible to forgive them. You might load up a save and start inside your crib and it runs 15fps before you even get to the street. Its a fundamental design flaw with their engine. You only need to pause the game in a place where it runs bad and even the MAP scrolls bad, which indicates they dont even pause the freaking renderer for smooth menu operation. PATHETIC.

well i love my xbox 360 each nite i unplug and take it to bed with me i love it that much i think u expect too much from the games and u have been unlucky , i cant get enough roll on forza 2 , halo 3 , gears of war and the list goes on and on.
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

I have only noticed one problem when playing Saints Row and thats one mission bugged out and couldn't be completed. But I just restarted and it was fine. I don't consider the minor framerate issues to be a problem as they don't detract from gameplay at all.
But to be honest whiners annoy me. There will always be people whining about every product. You get people whining about HL2 for piss sake. It's annoying, I have no time for these kind of people.

But you see, the frame rate issues should bother you. It should bother you that the game does nothing with the HDD and relies solely on the DVD Rom to play the game. People are getting pretty dam complacent and allowing developers to take a piss as the original poster says. We shouldn't have to spend $60 bucks to be a damn play tester!! Saints Row is the only game I've played that froze my 360, and I've been playing with the console since launch. I've had the frame rate drop down to slide show level in this game, and that is completly unacceptable. |

There's no way I'm forking out £50 per game - that is ludicrous.
HP do a similiar thing with their inkjet printers - buy cheap & then they sting you for the cartridges - this is p*ss-taking of the lowest order - treating legitimate customers as jerks.
Once a decent hardware mod comes out & Good HD TVs (not those headache-inducing LCDs) come down in price then I'll get a 360

What can I say, i'm not greedy. The game is fantastic, there is so much about it I like, that i'm willing to ignore what I consider minor issues.

I bought it. Maybe thats got something to do with my enjoyment. I always find that if I buy a game i'm willing to give it more time then if I just downloaded it.

I agree, the online lag at the moment makes multiplayer for the most part unplayable. They said they are patching it, but it's been ages. I got this game for singleplayer anyway, but I still expect muliplayer to be working out of the box.
