CALL OF JUAREZ - TECHLAND Release Date : 7/09/2006
Call of Juarez is a First Person Shooter for PC, inspired from the greatest movies of the Western genre. It is the first 'serious' and the most realistic adaptation of the genre. Developed by Techland Studio, the game draws on the major themes of the American Wild West through confrontation between the two principal emblematic characters.
While the game focuses on a high level of realism with its incredible graphics, environments and overall look, the gameplay has not been neglected, and players will enjoy a great gaming experience with duels and shoot-outs, wild horseback antics and a great Western atmosphere.

And can't even see bad guys correctly, shadows everywhere, and they are just black. like doom3

I am mainly attracted to this game because of the Western theme. Gun was the first really good game I've played, that had the whole western style. I'll be watching this one.

Well, the game's by Techland. Guys know how to make a good looking game. Chrome and Xpand Rally were beautiful. Cant say the same about their gameplay though. And Poles making a Western themed game, something doesnt sit right. I doubt they would be able to get a feel of the theme, unless its just a generic shooter with western models!!!

Hmmm, strange, Kaspersky is blocking the installer, it thinks it is infected, so it can't copy filesystem.dll and some other dll files to the game folder...
After disabling kaspersky I was able to install the game...
Then I enabled the antivirus and the game won't start cause it thinks imagelib.dll is infected...
Screw you guys. I'm going home.

disappointing.
Graphics 9/10
Gameplay 3/10
Interesting Shootouts, REALLY boring crate pushing and very annoying sneaking.
After Desperados 2 the next Western Crap.
If you like the Western Theme + Riding + Shooting, play GUN:

I guess you thought I meant the gfx...well, I was referring to the gameplay. And yes, I DO think It looks like shit, thats my opinion. Your name calling will not change that fact..
But sure, I will try the demo.. I can never know 100% until I tried it.

graphics 9,1/10
Gameplay 6.5 for the moment.
Hoping Finest in final release.
1) Some people have detect Infected file ... Not me .
2) Loading are a bit too long .
3) Some people said that engine not optimised .. Check your config... Run fine with my (poor) spec
(Choose Button Best Performance on game).

Well I have finished the cowboy level, it was ok...
The performance is extremely poor on my pc...
All games up to date ran just fine with, except this one...
Do i have to set everything to low, to be able to play with that damn indian? When I look at the ground, the framerate is ok, but when I look straight forward to the woods, it's like 2 fps:/ I'll try setting everything to low and see if the game is playable then.
And the game doesn't definately look like anything special or any better than any of the current games.
I'm running an Athlon64 3200+ @ 2.66GHz, 1Gig @DDR444, Radeon X800GTO @600/620...
Oh, and I forgot to mention - loading times are extremely poor...
Screw you guys. I'm going home.

After setting video options to best performance, the game runs better (but still not very smooth), but it looks like crap...
Well they have some time to optimize it anyway...

Texture quality doesnt really drop fps, you should try running in Shader 2.0 if you arent already and disable the blur, I did and it runs quite acceptable at 1024x768 on my AMD 64 3000+ and 6600 , 1024 ram.

slowmo happens automatically if you put your weapons back into the holster
when it's available you can see the icon in the lower right
x is to zoom
y(z) is for the fast firing mode
