Damn that sucks... I hope I'll get to keep my PSP for a long time. I already have a problem though, the O button is not completely in its place I let it fall on the floor and now I can look under the button to the PSP hardware 
I hope you don't have that specific TA-080 when you buy a new one. I'm wondering if you can look on the case for this like you could for the firmware version?

I think it's the psp edition that doesn"t allow you to downgrade if you have firmware 2.50/2.60. |

the TA-080 can't read the 1.5 FW so it will die.

You should be able to emu it on PSP, hell someone got windows 95 on their PSP. Truly it is a sweet handheld.
