At this exact second, right now, right this very moment, who has the faster chip?
I don't care about tomorrow, or "by christmas" or next release, or any of that, just want to know who holds the title for better performance right now.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The FX is the fastrest.. but it's also a only a tiny bit faster than the intel's. But about 150% the cost too.
You're talking minute differences between the 2 really. If I was going for a top spec one i'd deffo go for an intel.

"HEXUS has managed to run a complete set of benchmarks for two speed grades of Intel Conroe CPUs in our HEXUS labs - guaranteed free of bias - and we've compared their performance to the Presler Extreme Edition 965 and, uniquely, to today's baby from AMD, its Athlon 64 FX-62."

I dun quite believe that it is unbias, but feel free to look at the scores..

Well if you look at 'upcoming computers' you'll see that most of them feature an Intel chip of some kind. Admittedly this isn't a great benchmark, but it's some form of proof.
i'm not talking about companies that have a strict allegiance with one company or another, but look around and it's pretty easy to see which they believe will be the dominating chip.
Of course business sense such as, the cost to the retailer of an intel vs amd chip will come into it, but i'm not hearing such a buzz.
