I'm dual-booting SUSE and windows XP, Seem's to be working fine expect when I select linux my monitor's display changes from 1024X768 @60Hz To 1024X768 @ 63.3KhZ : 76Hz

This causes display problem's (Flickering, Missing some of screen). I looked at Sax2 but there's no way to change this? How do I fix this? I want to change it to 1024X768 @ 60hz.

You have to change it in your X config file.. this *should* be somewhere in the /etc/X11/ folder, but it may be different for your installation.. there is a X configuration program (not SAX!!) which will help with the process, but you are required to know some more indepth information about your moniter (should it not be a name/popular brand). The following link should help somewhat.

http://www.linuxmigration.com/quickref/window/config.html

good luck

I found this :

Code:
Section "Monitor"
  DisplaySize  345 259
  HorizSync    28-70
  Identifier   "Monitor[0]"
  ModelName    "LG ELECTRONICS ADV-174F"
  Option       "DPMS"
  VendorName   "GSM"
  VertRefresh  50-160
  UseModes     "Modes[0]"
EndSection

The only thing i can see needing to be changed is the HorizSync to 30-70 , Should i do that?
[/code]

Edit : Also another thing that i find odd is the installation of SUSE and booting up is working fine in 1024X768, but when i log on to the system it changes to this 63.3Khz.

Go for it, so long as you remember the values and where to change it you can always change it back! Remember, linux doesnt *need* a GUI to function like windows does Razz

I'm not 100% sure as I don't know how your install is setup or what SUSE10 uses, I would suggest you check the XF86Config file and edit that at first, or use the configuration program to automatically generate and activate a config file for you.. The link I posted should have more information on how that can be done, but again it could be system dependant.

Unfortunatly I don't have a GUI setup on my server to double check things here..

I'll just leave it just now and look more into it later, I've done a quick fix just now by stretching the monitor's V/H Size out so it fits the screen and it looks fine now.
