The man behind legendary games characters such as Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong has been given a knighthood in France.

I don't get it.

It seems like anybody can get knighted these days.

Knight: "A defender, champion, or zealous upholder of a cause or principle."

Hmmmmm, I suppose Elton John encompasses all those things... Rolling Eyes
