i read on other websites that if you burned your PS2 DVDs on high speeds it won't work , is this true ? i mean speeds like 8x are too fast for the PS2 lens or what ? and if it is true , what speed do you recommend ?

It all depends on what kind of drive you have, and what software you use. Some configurations you could burn at maximum speed no problem, but with others (Like mine) you might have to burn at minimum speed. Experiment some and see if you get good burns at 8x, if not, try 4x, then 2x if that doesn't work.

usually do all my ps2 or xbox at 4x on 8x rated speed, depends how much in a hurry you are to burn them, lol.
Also dvd decypter is best software to burn them if from ISO format.
speed isn't everything, type of media is, better media quicker you can burn

Yes, good media is most important. I recommend "Verbatim" they make the best IMO.
BUT contrary to the common opinion I made the expirience that burning faster leads to better results. Aparently a disk works best when it is burned at the speed it's been designed for.

I have a question too about burning PS2 games.
The problem is the movie-secuence in the games. The sound is cutting in and out. How can i make this better?
I burn my games on Verbatim and 4x speed. So I don't think the formate or the speed is the problem?

Sorry I meant the laser on your ps2.
You could try turning the pots up a bit, but too much and you'll damage the laser.

Verabtim dvd+r 16x Burned at 16x with DVD-Rom Book Type and never got probelms, if you got 16x media burn it 16x because high speed media works as best at high burn speed.

hmm, i burn at 16x on a new NEC with absolutely no issues.
However i do find that ps2 games with extensive cgi needs to be burnt at 2x.
