It's fake! They did that one on 'Myth Busters', they couldnt even get a crash test dummy airborn. First they tried it with the exact amount of bottles, didnt even go 5 meters, then they tried it with 50 bottles! no success either. They busted this myth

what episode was that? And this is deffo plausible. You just need to find the right amount of water / pressure ratio for this to work good. I dont think it can work AS good as shown on this vid but you could easily get airborne from a few cubic litres of pressure.

they tried that at some harbour. they wanted to use the chick for that, but tested with 'Buster' first and safety gurus didnt allow her to do it. Reason was, it didnt really go airborne, it just launched a few feet up and went straight down, would've broken her neck or something...
And they tested for a long time, to find the right ratio of water/air pressure, dont remember what it was though

Yes but as seen on quite a lot of the revistied ones the myths are actually true or plasuible a lot of the time and sometimes the way they conduct the experiments its beyond annoying.
I still find the show funny and adam is good on camera, and some of the shit they do is pretty nifty but nearly all the time I know what the conclusion is gonna be. I cant think of one i haven't worked out to be right actually.
Also quite a lot of the myths are really one off things. Such as say, the splitting of the arrow in robin hood. Ok it's a myth and they found it almost impossible to do, and in their test conditions everything was pretty much machine made. Saying that, if they press 1 on a keyboard, they're going to get 1 everytime. Now maybe in the 'real' (not that I actually believe it to be true) myth the arrows weren't machine made, which might have made some impurities in how the arrow flew in the air. Maybe the target arrow was weaker in places and this didn't have the same effect as the mythbusters rods... coupled with the fact that robin hood was supposedly the best archer in the world, i'd put my faith in that over a machine.

yeah, i've seen that episode too. they did try it without the machines first, had a lot of professionals archers, even one guy who works for hollywood, who is supposed to be one of the best archers nowadays, but not even he could split the arrow, he hit the arrow a few times, but it just didnt go right through, just split the tip. then they tried it with the "machines".
btw. since the first episode i've evern seen, i always thought they are lovers
both look/act so gay, not to mention the episode where Adam got an anal-probe voluntarily

nah but you must see the reasoning though.. Also they spoke about needing to see it 3 /4 times in a row for it to be possible. Myth's are usually one off things otherwise they would simply be facts. They tried to do everything in 'ideal' circumstances with no human error involved etc. but I think that human error CAN make things like this a plausible thing.

Right, but who cares. The show is funny/interesting and do what TV is supposed to do, entertain me...

What I dont like about it is, they spend 10 mins talkin abt it and then they onto a different myth, they then go back to the first and repeat half of what was said - as if you've forgotten it already.
Also a show like this should be entertaining but some of the experiments are annoyingly simple to prove right / wrong such as the 'flying from a building with a sheet of plywood'.... it was so obviously gonna be busted from the start.
edit: a good myth was the ping pong balls rising the sunken ship. but again if they were better at maths they shoulda known it was possible... in the right circumstances again though. If the hull wasn't very big or the ship was immensly heavey then it wouldn't work.

I know exactly what you mean. Another obvious one is the myth, if you are in a crashing elevator, and jump and the very last second you survive. I mean come on, what retard believes that? If the impact doesnt kill you, the crashing ceiling will for sure....

even without the ceiling you would die.
imagine the speed your body gets accelerated to in a crashing elevator,
there is no way you can deccelerate that with a simple jump.
maybe you can brake from 100 to 90 mph that way but that will still kill you,
unless youre hulk
