Why in gods name would you need so much retention? Its like $10 more, for double useless retention. You shouldn't slack when it comes to grabbin stuff, 40 days is more than enough Razz
As for the text retention...oh yea, usenets prime use nowadays is for discussing issues via text......right....? Very HappyVery Happy

Yes.. it is.. Razz

People really overlook newsgroups usage, just because you don't use it doesnt mean other people are the same. In my old work place we had a company news server where a huge amount of our R+D was discussed, it allowed the whole company to get a look in on what was going on, and although it wasnt very widly known a good 20 thousand people looked at the damn thing daily.. In the past 2 year's I've browsed text newsgroups and posted questions, getting 10 responses within an hour, and while using an old news server I got so many replies my retention couldnt keep up..

Lets also not forget google groups, which are of course newsgroups!

As for your comments on 70 day retention, Im pretty busy and although I spend a fair amount of time on the forum it's usually time spent while working at my computer or in a lab.. this being said I don't have the time to crawl newsgroups everyday, so its nice to search for something and find that its still around even after most news servers have dropped it..

So although you are fully entitled to your opinion, don't think other people share it.. because they don't Razz..
