You are very brave to use MAXTORs - and you are the bravest of all using them in a RAID!

MAXTORS have to be the absolute WORST drives made on the planet Earth. THE WORST.

You said that you installed WINXP several times? Did you do a clean install - by deleting or renaming both WINDOWS, PROGRAM FILES and DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS folders? Otherwise, you may be experiencing registry corruption or have mismatched DLLs somewhere.

Do a clean install and post if you have any more problems.

I agree with Kommando. Maxtor are the only drives I use now. 4 300gb drives in one machine. 2 of them are sata and 2 are ide.

Are you using raid lvl 0? Maybe one of the drives is damaged and thats why the raid isn't working porperly (although the raid driver should tell you that anyway). But we need some more info. How many drives do you have and what raid level are you running them and with what controller. Try reinstalling windows without the raid.

@deelix: very usefull comment, but i guess +1 on the post count for you Rolling Eyes
